plus the playoffs are like a year and a half long and everyone collectively treats the regular season as a joke relative to the playoffs so you can actually meaningfully assess playoff performance

I am gonna nerd out here, but this is def something I would do in Madden lol. I love having dope TEs cause you can be real frustrating coming out in 13 or 23 personnel (3 tight end sets) and running the ball, if your TEs are good enough receivers to throw out of those sets too.

long story short I do it to be unpredictable. It’s too easy to always run out of I form and always pass out of shotgun, and it’s also too easy to tell if someone’s passing or running based on the pre-snap patterns they have.

My whole game is based on fucking that conventional wisdom up and making it really hard to guess what I’m doing. To the point I even do fake hot routes to make a running play look like I’m setting up a pass play, i come out in the shotgun on third and 8 just to run off-tackle sometimes, I’ll pass 3 times in a row out of a heavy I form package… etc.

People who play me would say I run a LOT. But I actually feel like the way I play also makes it harder to stop me throwing downfield when I’ve got the opponent’s play calling flow off-balance. Almost like how the 90s Dallas Cowboys made Troy Aikman look a lot better than he is because they were so good at running the ball behind an elite line.

so long story short having Ian Thomas and Tommy Tremble as my TE2 and 3 is something I absolutely would do lol

 

i mean, the Rams didn’t have a first round pick last year and still got Stafford

I can tell you guys that @CarpetElf basically runs an air raid offense and spreads you out to get fast guys open, and he basically breaks the game with that shit lol, I have seen him have a 113 touchdown, 10,600 yard season passing the ball before and we were playing on all-pro with it tweaked to have even tougher AI.

you’re not gonna stop him without knowing how to play good user-coverage AND quickly audible another player to a QB spy so he doesn’t kill your AI with scrambling.

 

I play on pro and win by 100 because life is hard and sometimes you just wanna bully someone lol

 

It's week 8 and Mac Jones currently had 75 touchdowns in my franchise baybay.

 

It's week 4 and I've got 49 with Josh Allen AND play on All-Pro

 

It’s week 5* but yeah hahaha

 

I let that ball fucking rip because it’s a goddamn video game. I play on all pro and threw for close to, if not, 5000 yards with 49 TDs and 31 INTs with Justin Herbert in a franchise mode I’m doing with a friend.

No risk it, no biscuit. We are a pro-biscuit style offense

 

I also run a style of team where a trade a backup OLB in his late 20s on the final year of his contract and a fifth round pick to the Niners for Javon Kinlaw because Madden is an atrocious game lol

 

last Madden I played was 20 and I went full air raid because of the dumb x-factors lol

 

I just shut out the Jets in the divisional round of the playoffs 88-0. Felt fucking good. I was exorcising some demons last night

 

I have had 4 games so far, same All-Pro league as Matt.

In 3 of them, I got at least 1 sack, 1 additional tackle for loss, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovered, 1 interception, and one TD by user controlling Micah Parsons. Literally a full house of stats (minus safeties and blocks but those are extremely circumstantial events you can’t really control)

in the other one I did it by user controlling Andre Cisco as a slot CB. Lol

 

My friend turn those off for our franchise mode, thankfully. I fucking hate them in game

 

Also, I fucking hate how contracts work in this game. Uchenna Nwosu was asking for, like, $30m over five years and then there was a signing bonus. I was like “Okay, $6m/year or something close to that works,” but it turns out I’m paying him $9m next season, then $10m for a couple years and eventually $12m because ?????

Same with Justin Jackson. Figured I’d give my backup RB an okay extension where I pay him $2-3m/year over the course of three or four years, especially because Austin Ekeler takes himself out of the game a shit ton. As it turns out, I’m paying Jackson, like, $4m+ every year of his contract. It’s fucking stupid

Does the signing bonus somehow just get spread out across the contract? I would have thought the signing bonus was paid out in the current year because it’s, ya know, a SIGNING bonus.
