I don’t even cap it due to the 1 ring. Just get there. Like he’s def top 10, prob 6 or 7 but I just can’t have a guy in my top 5 who I acknowledge is the most talented at his job or all time who is less accomplished than nearly everyone else behind him.

This year really really hammered it home. You’re the only team with a bye and home field and you lose at home to Jimmy G and the 49ers? Come on. He’s like .500
In the playoffs at home in what was at one point the most dominant home field advantage of all time. It’s cute he owns the bears but he can sit outside the top 5 club and peak through the window.

    The rivalry is back on

idk, personally, I’d argue sustained low INT% even relative to the other current and former greats at the position while still playing in an aggressive, pass-first offense is a huge key differentiator in ordering all-time greats because there is a ton of additional team value added through that individual performance by avoiding negative plays (kind of similar to how it’s incredibly underrated just how good Peyton Manning was at avoiding sacks relative to other elite QBs)

conversely, I’d argue that Rodgers is incredibly clutch, as shown through metrics like 4th quarter comebacks, etc, and it’s just using small sample size of overall team performance in a single elimination playoff format to say “Rodgers’ teams only went slightly above .500 in playoff games” (which is still pretty impressive) as a huge knock against his legacy

but it’s all subjective and I’m cool to agree to disagree because there’s no actual right answer

You can’t catch up to what guys like Brady and Manning have accomplished with just low interception rate. Agree to disagree for sure on that.

theres also an argument for BEST (i.e. most accomplished) vs. MOST TALENTED

I think Rodgers is unquestionably top 5 most talented

Whereas for example, I don't think Brees is close to top 5 most talented, but he is close in most accomplished

Rodgers is in my top 5 so I don’t even know why I’m being so strong on this lol. Probably because he’s so recently been a pos

When you hit a mothafucka, you hit that mothafucka Prestigious

that’s the question though we’re THEY good enough to do that or was just him good enough to do that lol

Not recently but, through most of the 2010s the Packers were like an 8-8 team that would have no business going 12-4 even if they had a “pretty good” QB instead of Rodgers

But then they got a defense and a running game and he still can’t get it done so wtf lol. Goats get it done in the best of times and even at the not best of times occasionally. Those colts defenses sucked ass and Peyton got to the dance twice.

I also hold against Rodgers that he never ever had to compete with Brady until the dude was 43. Like, AFC guys kinda get a pass because the Pats are a historical anomaly. Rodgers didn’t have to deal with that. He was his conferences anomaly talent wise and still only once.

Thats fair, but, also, Aaron Rodgers might well be a 2x SB champion if Kevin King was never born. Thats not even touching how bad McCarthy is at game management. Like, do we think Aaron Rodgers has 1 SB if Belichick is his head coach?

We watched Justin Herbert convert like 6 straight 4th and 10+s in a game he still lost! Josh Allen converted multiple TDs in the 4th quarter, all while averaging 9ypa on 4TD and no INT and lost a divisional game. Rodgers, in most of the eliminating games, goes for 300+ and 3TDs or more. Ironically, his worst playoff game ever was the NFC Championship game against the Bears, which they won and became SB champs. Some of thats simply out of his control

On Manning, fun little comparison (on a per game average) of playoff performance:

    Player A: 24/38, 271.8yds, 1.5TD, 0.9INT
    Player B: 22.8/35.2, 267.9yds, 2.0TD, 0.6INT

Not even really close which guy you'd want, but I'll let you guess who Player B is.

@Night Channels @CarpetElf - What did you guys think of Cameron McGrone and Ronnie Perkins coming out in last year's draft?

No, the Pats picked him and immediately IR'd him but there was a bunch of hype about what he could become. I'm wondering if maybe having those two guys coming into sophomore years healthy changes the draft board for the Pats at all.

    Yeah, I misunderstood the question

lol it happens. I just read an article about the forgotten parts of the roster and am wildly banking on them having diamons in Shaun Wade and McGrone.

lol yeah it was either stud or IR for their draft class. Bledsoe too.

There’s obviously no way to know but the only one I see Rodgers winning is maybe the second Rams super bowl. No way in my mind he makes the comebacks against the Seahawks and Falcons. Even the Rams year I doubt he keeps up with Mahomes on the road in the AFCC. Obviously the first 3 Rodgers wasn’t in the league. So I don’t know I wouldn’t just assume he’d have more than 1

Wade was great at OSU when he played in the slot and then awful when he moved outside so who knows with him. McGrone I like
