    Lets Go. Prestigious

we need to see who exactly the Saints lose before we claim that "the Saints are so fucked"

Who could the Saints lose that would provide relief and not fuck them?

I feel like this is gonna be the new trump meme of:

"Hah, I'd like to see him wriggle his way out of this one!"
    ~Saints barely wriggles~
    "Shit."

    They should hang a banner

  5. Ben's shit came out 2008/2010 when i was a dumb 19-21 year old and just brushed it off as "well he wasn't found guilty". Obviously I got older and more mature. But yeah it's a weird situation where I wanted the Steelers to win but I didn't want to root for Ben. Every sports fan probably has endured that at some point and it doesn't make any sense.

For context, the Falcons beat the Giants, Jets, Dolphins, Saints, Jaguars, Panthers, and Lions

    Congratulations

You'll note though that all of those teams are awful and have plenty of cap space and are as good salary cap citizens as you can find basically lol. It's almost like Cap Jail isn't the penalty we all think it is.

Seems like the cap hurt the Falcons the last couple years and is continuing to do so

Yeah at the end of the day the rule of thumb is "just don't be dumb, dummy" and there's not only one way to be smart and also no "right" way to be dumb

Just make your team good and don't make it bad!

My argument summarized: The cap is real. It does at times force teams to be creative in how they do things, or make difficult decisions. The inability to do so however is not a death sentence, it's a parking ticket.

A lot of those teams have money because big time free agents don't want to sign there because they do not win.

  13. Is it the cap or just poor player evaluation and management?

I agree. The cap usually only seems to become an major issue for a season or two. Many people said the Eagles were in cap hell in 2021, which was true and they overachieved last season relative to the amount of talent on the roster. Now they have more cap space because Howie actually does a fairly solid job in that department. When teams don’t, it prolongs their significant cap issues, which is why the Falcons are in the predicament they’re in now.

Sounds like those things are all very much related with each other

  16. Yeah the falcons and saints will be bad because of poor roster decisions and not because of the cap because if there is a player these teams really want they can make it work every time

Like I can't give the saints the excuse of "well it's the cap ya know" when they're signing Taysom freaking Hill to big money deals. We're all looking for the guys who did this lol

Yeah if there is any “real” cap punishment where a teams hands are tied, it’s like for 1 season at most

  21. Yeah cap hell didn’t prevent them from that terrible decision haha

NFL Mock Draft 2022: Who Passes On A QB? | The Draft Network

Now if we can all turn our attention to this mock which is going to be 100% accurate, I would like to send along my condolences to all of your teams as you have allowed the Patriots to get Lloyd and Wan'Dale Robinson and have sealed your own fates.

Does this person not realize that the Eagles drafted Landon Dickerson, will be getting Isaac Seumalo back, and Jason Kelce is likely returning for another season?

Actually, this is the problem the Saints put themselves in, there's not that many guys that they can cut/trade that have big cap savings...because they restructured so many of them last year that accelerating 3 years of dummy money onto the 2022 cap is actually worse than just keeping everyone.

Saints are basically gonna return 90% of their team from last year because they have to, and they'll enter 2023 with a team thats two years older than 2021 across the board having signed basically no free agents to anything other than the vet min.

THe fact that they rolled with Jameis Winston this year was a function of them not being able to offer any real money or absorb any cap hit for trading for a better QB
