Fastball is the easiest pitch to get lucky on wym lol

I would much sooner concede that I’d never hit the ball against a great breaking ball pitcher

 

I would agree that if you know it's going to be a fastball 100 straight times, you may make contact at least once since you would know the timing

But in a real world situation with the threat of a breaking ball, it will fuck up your shit and your timing will be awful lol

 

That's how little confidence I have in anyone here catching up to where a 99 MPH fastball is gonna be. A slider would make you call your closest friends in tears looking for comfort.

 

I feel like I did kinda believe this, but the more hubris I see in the thread in general the more I'm like "nah we're missing all of em" cuz this is way too much confidence goin on in here

 

I also really think people are misunderstanding the size of the strikezone. The width of the plate from your knees to your chest. That's more than enough room for a pitcher to fuck your world up hundreds and hundreds of times before getting bored. I mean just the inside third of the zone is gonna have you ducking out the first 50 times because it looks like it may be coming to kill you.

 

hitting a baseball is 100% the hardest

hitting a shot in basketball is 100% the easiest (not saying its easy)

 

@Randall Mentzos - What town do you live in nowadays? I'm prepared to buy anyone a round at the batting cages to see how they'd do against a 100 mph fastball haha

Yes, but i'll be doing the slow pitch softball cages because i'm realistic about my abilities

 

Oh absolutely I'll never attempt to hit a 100 mph fastball because that also just doesn't sound like it'd be a fun time

I'm way too scrawny to maybe even hit the softballs decently

well yeah of course lol. When he strictly pointed out fastballs that gave it a little bit of a more controlled environment

 

if I can get as many tries as I want and all I gotta do is make contact with the ball once you’re on haha

 

Haha I'd def buy you a few rounds to watch the attempt. I will add an addendum that a pitch machine is a little bit easier because it won't explore the strike zone as much so it'll be closer to the same spot every time, but i'm still confident it'll be a struggle haha

 

A big thing people are ignoring too is how much your arms are gonna hurt making those swings that many times in a row, it's not gonna be comfortable at all haha. I dunno if I'd be ever able to adjust to the speed in time before my arms gave out on me (again, I am really scrawny though so yeah)

Probably not a factor for more athletic people in here. I am just very not that

 

I’ll tell you what I wouldn’t do: be the catcher

now that shit is fucking hard and scary lol and if you ever mess up, it’s also a decent chance that a guy got on base because of you and your mistake hurt the team

Isnt my twice-a-week whining about us pissing away the greatest cornerback of this generation already enough?

 

I was at the Jags stadium to see him seal a playoff game by literally tipping an interception to himself. Matter of fact he has the timing and coordination to where he even tips the ball to other defenders if he can’t get it himself.

I’ve also seen him absolutely LAY OUT the WR / RB / TE that was supposed to block him and then make a tackle in the backfield on the same play, he’s the only CB I’ve ever SEEN is THAT physical and THAT good at beating blocks.

These aren’t isolated things, he has highlights doing all of that in LA too. Ramsey is so fucking good and I’m still so mad we treated him shitty and sent him to one of my least favorite teams

 

My best chance of getting on base in the mlb is standing there and hoping they throw 4 balls
