I mean just playing baseball for fun isnt that hard. I genuinely think just HITTING THE BALL strictly is, while hard af, not as impossible as people make it out to be. Anyone can go to batting cages and practice at high speeds. It’s more so impossible to get a “hit” statistically, as in, get on base without someone catching or throwing you out

 

It’s certainly easier to hit the ball once than
it is to stand in front of the plate and get hit by the ball lol. I’d rather try to hit the ball for real. Would probably take me less time to accomplish that than to heal from the insane bone bruise you get from the baseball hitting you lol

This is why I put cricket high on the list of things I cant do. I've never once seen Shohei Ohtani take a baseball to the dick...but the number of cricket guys that catch a bad bounce....there's no world I could stand in there and swing freely.

My bet is simple. I get 10-15 pitches to get a loose read on how fast the ball is going. I walk back to the dugout, dry heave a little, and then swing ~85 times in the same spot and hope the pitcher misses his mark by about 3". I make contact, every bone in my hands break, and I claim victory.

I cant even imagine how many of my 100 times I'd need to guess which side Venus is serving to or to begin to decipher which play my NFL team is in or simply to figure out how to skate straight

 

Like, no amount of money or pride lets me even attempt this shit

 

Someone on Bengals Twitter said he wouldn't return a punt or a kickoff in the NFL for $1 mil. because he would probably die if he got tackled. I wouldn't die, but I would guess most of that $1 mil. would get eaten up by hospital bills & physical therapy payments.

that's what we hope for, reconciling the offered amount within the range of the selected comps. Of course, the appraiser could suck and use terrible comps, but you'd have to go out of your way for that.

 

So I mentioned that we're taking a day trip to Vancouver next month while we're in Seattle, I'm trying to plan ahead to make sure our phones will work and Google Maps for directions. I've downloaded a ton of offline maps for the areas we'll be, has anyone used downloaded maps in another country before, are they reliable?

 

not sure what phone carrier you have, but I think you can add daily international service for like $10/day IIRC to your plan in most cases

I think thats what we did when we were in Ireland

 

We have the T-Mobile Magenta Max plan which includes 5GB of "high speed" data then 256kbps afterwards, so I'm not sure if it's worth adding more. It's $35 to add an additional 5GB and $50 for 15GB.

We'll be with someone from the area so we won't really need to be using our phones once we're in Vancouver, I'm just curious about how reliable offline maps are for directions lol
