i did specify THIS year. We have Allen, Mahomes, Burrow, Herbert, Wilson, Jackson, Carr, Ryan. Dark horses in Lawrence and Tua if they take the leap. Or like, the NFC with Rodgers and Brady automatically locking up two of the three roster spots.

I’m prepared to call Taylor > Faulk since Taylor has never had Bill Belichick write a one line defensive game plan against him in a super bowl.

    “Just hit Marshall”

    Not here. Isn't happening. Supporter

Mac Jones was like the 3rd alternate. Now so many people skip the pro bowl it makes it kind of useless in determining how good someone is relative to their peers. I don’t even know, do all the guys that passed still get pro bowl credit? So there are like 10 pro bowl qbs this year if so?
Edit I guess Mac was the first alternate? Kind of surprised he was voted over Carr and Burrow. That can’t be right

All purpose yards is a good frame of comparison now but it isn’t for back then when more than half the teams in the league Didnt even design their offenses to give their RBs a lot of routes / targets

That would then hurt Taylor's case

in what way is it his fault that Tom Coughlin didn’t believe in throwing the ball to runningbacks a lot lol

When they threw to him he was on point with it. Just didn’t happen much.

Lewis did legit have the 2000 yard season. That’s hard to do. And Holmes catching the ball a lot certainly is a bonus to his skillset even if it’s not a knock on Taylor.

    Prestigious Prestigious

they get forgotten a lot I feel like because they’re the Jags, but they really had some great offensive players in the late 90s and early 2000s. That Jimmy Smith/Keenan McCardell/Fred Taylor trio was crazy. A shame Taylor had so many injury issues

It isn't? But that's irrelevant to what the numbers are.

    Target breakdown for those years.

When you hit a mothafucka, you hit that mothafucka Prestigious

It’s part of the context behind the numbers. Holmes got the chance to play receiver on passing downs while Fred was blocking half of them. And running swing / checkdown routes for most of the rest. Thats at least a good 400-500 yards of cushion where Taylor wasn’t even given the opportunity.

    I mean LT: 101

taylor typically had half that or less lol

Cool beans but that changes absolutely nothing about what happened. The results are what they are. We can play hypotheticals all we want but that doesn't change the facts lol.

if he was capable of being LT, he would've been

When you hit a mothafucka, you hit that mothafucka Prestigious

It’s not a hypothetical. The type of offense you’re in can inflate or deflate your numbers drastically. Some of those offenses including KC were built to run 30 times a game and to intentionally, (not just with checkdowns) pass 5-8 more times to their runningback. Our team used the run to offset Brunell throwing to Jimmy and McCardell.

Okay, very good. So you agree Taylor had worse years than Priest Holmes then? And you aren't trying to blame it on scheme and say that Taylor would've been better in a reality that isn't this one?

  22. Randall Mentzos

When you hit a mothafucka, you hit that mothafucka Prestigious

for starters I’m not saying Taylor is LT. LT obviously is one of the GOATs.

LT was their whole offense. If Taylor got drafted by SD they would’ve used him more as a receiver. But he didn’t, he was drafted by an old school coach who wanted to pass out of the fucking I form and only give the ball to runningbacks in obvious running situations. Lol

  23. Randall Mentzos

When you hit a mothafucka, you hit that mothafucka Prestigious

no. Priest had more bad / injured years than Taylor lol and even in an offense that force fed him the ball.

  24. Randall Mentzos

When you hit a mothafucka, you hit that mothafucka Prestigious

There’s a reason he had 3000 less yards even with those high peaks.

  25. CarpetElf

chorus's #3 oklahoma city comets fan Prestigious

Yes, therefore we judge him based on the situation he was in, not what could've been. Also, Fred had injury problems, he absolutely would not have survived SD.
