Priest Holmes had about 30% less yards than Taylor lol

what if I told you TDs is extremely situational and splitting with MJD and Natrone Means robbed Taylor of like 30-50 touchdowns

what if I told you Taylor always got dealt a coaching staff that wanted to give a heavier back goal line carries because he was miscast as “fragile”, even if he was perfectly capable of doing it himself

Holmes got literally replaced by Larry Johnson,

the Jags drafted MJD and still couldn’t keep Fred off the field cause he was still way too good

 

I mean, I think Alexander wins at his peak. Early 00s Shawn Alexander is up there with peak LT, AP, Chris Johnson, and Derrick Henry for best RBs at their best I’ve seen since I’ve been watching football

I agree on Gore at his peak, but he’s the ultimate compiler and is a no doubt, probably won’t sit on the ballot too long HOFer

I give Shady and Marshawn the nod over Taylor because of the era they had their peak in being a harder era for RBs but the accomplishments are similar, but I don’t really take a ton of offense if you don’t

 

Fred Taylor to MJD just proves @EntryLevelDave more right.

 

I feel like you’re showing me a bunch of Taylor being better than Holmes and the Chiefs just ran the ball in on the goal line with their RB1 more than the Jags did

 

Lol the thing Taylor has over holmes is total yards c'mon now

 

It’s pretty rare for a team to move on from a RB and be noticeably hurt by it and the best examples I can think of are 3rd down RBs

 

I mean, they’re pretty comparable rushing wise and priest was way more of a factor catching the ball

 

It took 4 years for MJD to take that job from
Taylor. Taylor was over 30 by the time they finally passed the torch

 

I do not agree they are comparable rushing wise. Holmes had like 3 really good seasons and that’s it.

 

Taylor's career stats aren't any better than McCoys either

 

When you average them out they’re pretty comparable. So durability goes to Fred Taylor and receiving/touchdowns go to Priest. It’s not like…a blowout lol

 

Fred played 17 fewer games. McCoy also didnt split with a RB as good as MJD for 50 or so of those games

 

Yeah but you can’t selectively use longevity against Fred but then say priest and Fred were the same. It’s a double standard like I have said every time this comes up. Again, Terrell Davis is in the hall of fame.

 

I think you're overrating Fred Taylor. Again I don't think he's bad or these other guys are definitely better but they are in the same class.

I don’t think you can genuinely watch Frank Gore and Fred Taylor and say Gore is better. I think that would be entirely disingenuous and you’d be lying to yourself lol
