Daxton Hill is such a good defensive back. I wouldn't be shocked to see him go in the first round.

Late but, from the couple times I’ve looked at draft trends over the past 10 years or so, safety showed up as by far the easiest non-specialist position to find and develop starting quality players from day 3 picks

I don’t really like “don’t take until…” rules because talent is talent and transcendent players break those kinds of rules and scheme fit/team needs matter, but I think as far as positional value goes, I would take a player I thought was similarly talented at any other position before I took the safety

 

Detroit gives 2 and 28 for 1 and a future 2nd.
Eagles give 19, 20, and 23 for 2 and a future 1st

I know we just talked about not getting emotional but I would weep.

 

Though realistically whoever is making those multiple first selections will blow it. They always do

 

The thing that gets me with this QB class is less the quality at the top of the class (which is also a bit eyebrow raising) and more that it feels like there are literally 6 FBS QBs in the draft class. You have Corral, Pickett, Willis, Ridder, Strong, and maybe Howell if he ends up declaring. And then after that top group, Bailey Zappe is the only other QB I know of who is officially in the draft besides FCS guys and everyone else is finding another year of eligibility or doing the transfer portal instead. I legitimately cant think of another year where 2 total P5 guys were in a draft class. Am I missing anyone?
