I met Byron Leftwich in 2004 during his rookie season, at a signing he did just for positive publicity / community outreach at my mom’s workplace in Jacksonville. She worked a civilian job for the Navy at NAV AIR, I think it was to show support for veterans’ families cause Jax’s number one employer is the Navy.

And I have a picture of my dorky 13 year old ass, with huge ears / nose and one of the last Marine haircuts my dad ever made me get, looking like a lil shrimp next to 6’5” 250 lb Byron who was even bigger as a rookie than Ben Roethlisberger

 

And #4 is Victor Green, safety for the Jets for the entire 1990s, i met him while I was living in Atlanta with @CarpetElf because a different aunt of mine knew HIS lawyer, and brought me to a thanksgiving party at his nice ass lake house in north GA.

I actually got to watch part of a game and discuss strategy with Green, and he complimented my knowledge of schemes & the benefits and weaknesses of typical zone coverages #humblebrag. Also met his son who was one of the top RB recruits in the nation, look out for Elijah Green from Roswell GA, he plays for UNC now and was a freshman last year so he should be getting playing time soon

And I think y’all remember me telling you I’ve met the Jags whole 2017 defensive line, when I was in Jax cause they came in to a restaurant I worked at to have a team meeting.

(I’ve also met Telvin Smith that way, but ehhh. He’s gross & deserves worse than the 3 years probation he got. Fuck him.)

I didn’t get to talk to Calais Campbell for very long, I simply took his order and explained menu items to him and brought him food, but he was probably my favorite NFL player I’ve met by far hahaha. His personality stands out. Dante Fowler also stood out - by showing up 45 minutes late looking high and/or drunk af lol

 

I’ve only met one NFL player and it was Jason Hanson. Great guy, lions legend

my wife interacts with Strahan pretty commonly and he’s also been extremely cool

she met Barry Sanders the day before Michigan lockdown and said it was the wildest day lol

I'm already in one very casual madden league this year and it's the first year I've played the game in awhile. Took me some time to get back in the groove but I have a lot of fun with it now. I stacked my squad and try to run a lot of weird plays.

 

@Swoos any word on if Reddick is going to re-sign with CAR?

Nothing really. He said multiple times he would like to stay. I don’t think resigning Luvu has anything to do with their plans for Reddick despite twitter having a freak out about it. They play different positions lol

It just depends what other teams are throwing at him I guess. I think we’ll make him a nice offer but he will get more money elsewhere if that’s what he wants.

 

I know he had a lot of sacks this year but I think a team would regret giving him what some of these sites are projecting.
