Yeah I remember reading or hearing good things about him aside from the injury stuff and some people even had him as a top 5 WR in that class. Coaching matters a lot and the Jags don’t have it so I wouldn’t blame them for trying to take a shot in a safer WR prospect

Ive pointed out a lot that aren’t busts actually. That’s a risk you take at every position. In fact that’s why I’m sayin teams should be aggressive and keep targeting receivers because it covers your ass if you whiff and take a Jaelen Reagor

I agree that Shenault was highly regarded but he was still like the 5th best WR in a loaded class. It’s just kinda crazy to me we thought Chaisson was worth the downgrade from JJ to Shenault, and if we didn’t think that was a downgrade then we were wrong!!

 

There were people who had him 3rd tbh, including above JJ

Should they have? No. But it was out there.

 

My opinion is the Jags should address the offensive line in both FA and the draft first and foremost. I think they should try to bring back Chark on a one-year deal and draft a WR on day two in the hopes of finding two solid starters between a rookie, Shenault, and Jones. I think they should definitely try to trade down from 1 to get more picks so they can take more shots on various positions. I think addressing WR in 2024 makes more sense as they adjust to a new coaching staff this year and determine who is going to be around for the long haul with Trevor

If we can trade down then WR becomes a very tempting choice in the first

 

Randall's just jealous cause I took Chase in Madden and my statline with him looks like a HoF QB

 

I get the need for a WR for the Jags, 100%, but I’m nervous about the free agent class at that position, which is why I think they’d be better served bringing back Chark than potentially overpaying for someone like Mike Williams. Chark and Shenault are intriguing enough players where you could be convinced that those two and a rookie with Jones makes a solid WR corps that they can upgrade upon in 2023 once they have more clarity on Chark and Shenault

From what I can find we had some people (Swoos was the first I saw) with JJ over Viska and in mock #2 JJ went over Viska but it goes to show that there wasn't this massive gap in opinion, and Shenault was considered very much in the same prospective range

 

Definitely agree. I don't want Mike Williams. Go get me one of the WR3s like Gallup, Kirk, Gage, or Meyers. Assuming Godwin is back.
