I don’t think that Jefferson would’ve been enough by himself in his rookie year to win us more games while we were actively tanking.

So real talk, Trevor Lawrence could’ve been throwing to Justin Jefferson and Rashod Bateman right now even with DJ Chark hurt and Laviska Shenault sucking. And in that scenario I don’t think much changes without Etienne and Chaisson.

 

Teams need to be aggressive in targeting standout weapons. As much as i love defense and running the ball etc sometimes it really is a better call to just go get the WR that defenses are scared of and that makes them play you differently

 

I always wanted kids, but over the last five years or so of actually working with kids and seeing the country I live in in fucking shambles, I have become more terrified at the thought of having children

I still think I’ll have a kid or two some day, but I’ve certainly given it more pause.

Usually if they’re NOT aggressive it’s a mistake. There’s only like 2-3 coaches in this league that can win important games without a legitimate THREAT at WR and teams that always draft them later almost never have that guy

 

The top WRs are almost never the guys going super highm

 

It’s great that the Colts and Titans have absolute freaks at RB, but those teams are fooling themselves if they think they’re going anywhere with just one legit option at WR/TE. All love to Julio, but it’s just all falling apart for him at this point

It really is hard and is a big reason why I'm so upset that my kids ended up moving to somewhere that's like...98% white. Texas is already not a beacon for good takes and it gets so much harder when they're removed from any diversity. My wife and I do a shit ton of work to try to offset that and keep them educated early but holy hell it is hard. But definitely worth it, I wasn't as a kid growing up around that bullshit and I really wish I was.

 

Not sure if fraudulent is the right word. The Rams and Raiders left in 95 and while Raiders fans stayed, I don't ever remember growing up (in SoCal, where my parents had Rams season tickets) who was a Rams fan. It was either Chargers (as we lived in Temecula/Riverside county just above San Diego), Raiders, Niners or Cowboys. I never was a fan of any SoCal team as I was only 9 when they left and wasn't into football until the Cowboys won the SB in 96 (decided to root for whoever won't that game).

So, no real LA/OC team for over 2 decades... where during that time anyone who did start following football likely went with whatever their parents did. I don't blame the Rams for not having a big fan base based on that. Yeah they've had some pretty good results in their short time back, but it'll have to be at least another 5-10 years with the new younger fans to really start making it a strong fanbase.

Chargers though... that's a whole different thing with their fanbase. I'm not sure they'd have the same amount of fans at a SB parade. And the stats for LA area would be even worse if they were in the SB.

 

They’re often first round. When I say I aggressive I don’t mean trade way up haha I just mean prioritize it in every draft unless you’re absolutely loaded at WR already

Then again maybe they’re fine with being the NFL Clippers and just being a host city for visiting NFL teams

 

They used to be the team I'd always move but now those uniforms are too good. So I've moved the Eagles to Dublin.

 

Clippers are bottom tier branding. Chargers are top tier.

 

I feel for Chargers players because team ownership is dumb as fuck

 

I will literally never stop laughing about us changing the couch coaches logo because it looked terrible and then the fucking Clippers drop the same logo a year later
