I'd be surprised as well, but I do think may throw the money out for him. This might easily be the most important off season for the Eagles. I'm not the biggest fan of Gannon, but like I think you gotta spend the money if you wanna give him the right personel and that's something he didn't have.

I would like to see them shell out money for Williams, but they only have a little more than $20m in cap space and historically don’t value the safety position that highly. I think they’ll try to find a solid safety on a cheap contract like they did with McLeod back in the day while also using some money on a WR. That way, they’ll have enough cap space remaining to sign their rookies and to sign any free agents after the draft if they need to improve anywhere else or in the event of injuries in the summer or during the season.

If they gave Slay and/or Hargrave extensions, however, then I could be a little more convinced that they’ll spend up a little more at WR or safety.

rumor is that Miami offered Duke Johnson a contract to re-sign and are just waiting on him

Well let's be honest, if they really care about building around Hurts you spend the money at the WR position, but everything has been a organizational failure since we won the SB so I have no hope in Howie and Lurie.

I also have some concerns about the free agent market at WR because some of the best guys are either coming off season/ending injuries or are in their late 20s so it can be dicey for a lot of teams looking for help at that position this offseason

Now, that wouldn’t stop me from trying to sign Chris Godwin or Michael Gallup if they’re available, but there are some concerns at that position this offseason.

Oh I totally agree, but I think that might help us to get a guy like Godwin. Btw I'm not sure I'd want Gallup regardless of the injury.

I’m in on Gallup. I think there’s a chance Dallas brings him back on the cheap, especially if they move on from Cooper, but I think Gallup is a good WR that doesn’t get talked about much because the Cowboys have pushed him into a specific role as a deep threat so he isn’t as much of a focal point in that offense anymore like he was in 2019 when he went for 66/1107/6.

The injury is definitely concerning because he might not be ready for the start of the season, but I think he offers a very similar skillset to a guy like Mike Williams except he’ll be more affordable to an Williams and is gonna be 26 this year whereas Williams is gonna be 28.

When you look at their careers and how they been utilized, they’ve both had similar careers. The most obvious difference is that Gallup’s best season was in 2019 while Williams just had his best season.

Now I want to take a look at the list of WRs who are currently slated to hit free agency and rank the top 5-10 in terms of who I’d prefer the Eagles to target

Yeah the restructure that the Falcons did to Ryan's contract was ludicrous. Cannot believe they went in that direction instead of drafting a QB or trading back.

    Gotta take a TE tho

Jags hiring Deshea Townsend for secondary coach. That's now 7 coaches with at least 8 years of NFL playing experience.

Also, Mike McCoy being under 50 blows my mind. I thought that dude was like 60 something.
