An underrated part of this is the fact that Cincinnati 150 percent would've walked backwards into winning the super bowl if the 49ers were in there instead.

meh. It depends on the prospect.

a guy like Jalen Hurts I mean we already know who he is. He’s the same QB in NFL as he was in college.

Baker has legit been bad in his FOURTH season, at which point yeah if I’m the Browns I’m thinking about moving on

Prospects that have played okay and are overcriticized early on, like Tua, you hold onto. Same will probably be true of Davis Mills.

In terms of rookie QBs… if I’m the Bears or the Jets I’m worried because both QBs had huge question marks and those question marks indeed made them both have awful rookie seasons, but Lawrence is a much different story.

Trev clearly has way more potential and talent than he showed last year and I really think the anomaly of us having one of the worst and most toxic / unprofessional NFL coaches of the last 20 years stunted his development to an unusual degree. Am I worried that damage will create a lasting effect, absolutely, but it’s a salvage job because of former bad coaching, not because the player themselves has a roadblock. I really think and at least hope Doug Pederson has what it takes to turn that around.

I'm not saying I necessarily disagree but I do think it's funny that you were like "there are all these nuances that only make my rookie QB the one with the potential and the other ones you kinda have all the information on"

(Yeah I know Mills was mentioned but he just got a sentence)

Also Ehlinger wasn't mentioned and Ehlinger > Brady so idk

Well, it’s more so that Zach Wilson and Justin Fields struggled with things you’d expect them to struggle with based on their college tape, so their flaws come as advertised

but Lawrence’s struggles kinda came out of nowhere and were the result of the Jaguars actively sabotaging his development

I did say we already know who Hurts is but I wasn’t that dismissive about Wilson and Fields, I still think they have potential to be a lot better than they are… just that their flaws being this loud and them being this far behind in certain areas of the game is kinda concerning

The point of the conversation though was "move on or keep developing" which like, yeah you keep developing a bit longer haha, and you were saying "yeah but it's different" to THAT between the 3. I don't think it is different in regards to that debate.

Oh let me clarify then, I got carried away making two points at once - definitely keep developing Fields and Wilson but I also think being “concerned” is very valid cause they suck at exactly what I thought they would suck at lol

I mean I’m concerned about Trev too but in a different way. If he even just reverts to his college level he’ll play a lot better. The concerning thing about him is he started developing bad habits that weren’t even there before???

I agree with the clarification haha

And yes I think all 3 are concerning in different ways, and all 3 deserve a chance to show improvement here and if not...then maybe keep looking

they should absolutely use it to try and trade up for one of the QBs that fall and take a shot

Zach Wilson's short accuracy was elite at BYU and it absolutely stunk in 2021 with the Jets. So no, he did not come as advertised.

Wilson (and Aaron Rodgers) were the only QBs in the league that didn't throw an INT for the last five games of the season.

I get what you're saying about Trevor Lawrence, but all three (Wilson, Lawrence, and Fields) were in bad situations. Just because Lawrence's was the worst doesn't mean the others had it much better.

    The rivalry is back on

Mac Jones also was omitted from my OP — both because they’re at/very near (or clearly very far above in the case of Ehlinger) the line in question after year 1
