    the other thing is

    A) Rudolph played against the Lions, at home...Burrow played the Super Bowl champs in their stadium lol
    B) Rudolph threw 50 passes for 242 yards in that game, with a worse completion %

  11. that steelers lions game was also the worst game of the season

both teams should've been given a loss imo

    The rivalry is back on

I don’t understand how people have so much trouble grasping the difference between average and below average in the same way they generally easily grasp the difference between elite and average

In no world is Rudolph’s 61% career completion percentage and 6.2 Y/A preferable to Garoppolo’s 68% career completion percentage and 8.4 Y/A, regardless of what you’re giving up

(specifically commenting on this person calling Rudolph “Mr Average” instead of “no track record to suggest he’s anything more than a bottom 3 starter in the NFL and an adequate backup”)

As a Bengals fan, I hope they stick with Rudolph or Duck Hodges.

Mason Rudolph was a bad prospect who was overdrafted. He isn't even below average. It's why he played the same after Garrett hit him on the head - there's nothing left in there to damage

Yeah, honestly, Jimmy G is probably the Mendoza line for whether you have a QB or not. If you can stay healthy/have enough depth, Jimmy G can get you to the game. Anyone worse, simply cant. Mason Rudolph is worse.

i wish that line was more actionable, because whichever one of Jimmy G, Cousins, Carr, Ryan, Wentz, etc you want to use as your bellwether for your Mendoza line, just about everyone below them is on a rookie deal

Tua, Hurts, Danny Dimes, Mills, Baker Mayfield with a borked shoulder, Lawrence, Wilson, and Fields are a large portion of that group, and I don’t really know when you say “I’m going to cut ties with one of those guys for someone solidly above that line” versus “let them develop and they should get there” — because both are fool’s errands. I’m starting to lean more towards the first if you don’t see them above that line in the first two years, but I’m sure there are plenty of counter examples that I’m not thinking of that would disprove that

and then you’re left with like Bridgewater, Heinicke, Goff, Taysom Hill, and the ghost of Big Ben as the QBs you definitely don’t want starting for you and that goes without saying
