For the record, I still don’t think that Combine-leading WR looked close to being the fastest NFL player I’ve seen haha.

They weren’t laser timing guys until recently. But I’m pretty positive Deion Sanders was clocked at 4.21 and Bo Jackson at 4.19, while Randy Moss ran 4.25, and though those are hand times… based on the eye test I’m inclined to believe those were accurate because they line up well with other speed threats I’ve seen haha. If Tyreek is a 4.29 and Chris Johnson is a 4.24 I easily imagine Moss’s speed being between them and Jackson / Sanders being even faster.

also, while not official, it’s rumored Darrell Green ran a 4.1 flat in practice, which would make sense cause he won NFL “fastest man” competitions in his late 30s. But THAT I think was hand-timer bias and he probably realistically ran a low 4.2 haha

Anybody successfully get more pay out of an employment contract? I've been looking for a new job and got my first offer. It's within the range they provided, but I asked for 10k more than their high end during the interview process, and they offered right in the middle of their stated range. It's more than I make now but not what I was hoping for.

Just wondering if anyone's been in this situation and what you did/said to get more

 

Ive done so on some freelance deals Ive done; the advantage you have is basically two-fold. One, they haven't actually hired you and thus you have the leverage of being able to walk away. My leverage is always highest when Im busy (or now, when Im home babysitting my daughter), because I wont accept a lower price if its not worth it.

But the bigger one is you are in the middle of their range, meaning they imagined possibly paying more for the right person. Id argue why your experience/qualifications/specifics merit you being at their top end. Would a raise at your old job basically bring you in line with their offer? If so, why would you leave and start all over somewhere else...

It is a lot easier to do if you are actually willing to walk away though. I've had 2 or 3 clients that wanted to low-ball me for my work, and I explained why my experience and professionalism were going to cost them less than dealing with someone who charges less. And sure enough, one of them came back to me to edit a video because the person they hired was so unprofessional at the event that they didnt trust them to edit it.

Rivera was supposedly spending much of the week at radio row talking about quarterbacks and their need for one so it would make sense. They’ve been desperate for a while and it could possibly be Rivers’s last season there if they can’t figure it out
