The Kansas City Chiefs select Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida and Arnold Ebiketie, EDGE, Penn State As long as Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid are together in KC, their window is wide open. The rest of the roster though? Adding Elam and Ebiketie fill the only two glaring holes they have entering this season.
if multiple of my favorite players are still on the board though, I might sit and wait then. Like why trade up to 25 for Linderbaum if more than one “premium prospect” (in my subjective opinion) is also falling and we need help everywhere? My point is I don’t want to give up a 3rd to get to Linderbaum if I can give up nothing and still get a steal. I only trade up if only one guy from that tier is left, AND it’s not gonna cost me more than the comp pick I could get if that player walks
Yeah but a third? That’s giving up what could be a whole extra starter haha. I understand being that bullish on Linderbaum though since this isn’t the strongest center class after he goes, and we just lost Brandon Linder. It might be worth the extra third to fill that enormous need, since Parham still needs work and Jurgens might be gone by our third round pick.
I think we could maybe flip a 4th to swap with one of KC’s picks, but it would cost a 3rd to get to pick 25 and beat other teams trying to trade up / get ahead of the Titans. I just think: 1 - Ikem Ekwonu 2 - Trey McBride 3 - Logan Hall 3 - Dylan Parham Or 1 - Aidan Hutchinson 2 - Kenyon Green 3 - Jamaree Salyer 3 - Alec Pierce Etc there are scenarios that could happen where the fourth player is awesome enough to be glad you filled 4 holes instead of 3, and we could still do something acceptable with the line. That TE hole is hard to fill too because that drops off harshly after McBride as well
Green is discussed as a potential move to center. Idk I’m just spitballing. I really do wish there was another quality center haha. Jurgens is good but not pick 33 good
I mean, fuck it I'll try that. Worst case scenario is you drafted a player that's only good at playing 4 positions instead of 5 lol
***TRADE*** New York Jets send pick 69 + WR Braxton Berrios to Seattle Seahawks for WR Tyler Lockett @CarpetElf
The new Jets offense: QB: Zach Wilson RB: Michael Carter, Tevin Coleman WR: Tyler Lockett, Corey Davis, Elijah Moore TE: CJ Uzomah, Tyler Conklin OL: Mecton, AVT, McGovern, Tomlinson, Neal That’s pretty good on paper.
Seahawks trade picks 41 and 72 for pick 32. @CarpetElf Seattle selects Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati
Haha i mean yeah I don’t like the Mafe pick… but in the same vein he might’ve talked me into being okay if the Jags take Ekwonu instead of Neal I still prefer Neal… but I’d be ignoring the context, if I didn’t give credit to the strategic reasons why Ekwonu fits what Pederson likes to run better than most top tackle prospects. Dude has incredibly rare skills run blocking in space and I can’t say I’d complain about him making running the ball, calling RPOs, and screens easy. That’s actually a back door way to support Lawrence by taking more pressure off him on a per-down basis, even if Ikem isn’t the pass blocker that Neal is. guy has pancaked 3 dudes in one play a few times on film, and he has HUSTLE. He’s an Andrew Whitworth-style run blocker who likes to use his speed / has the stamina and understanding of angles to get 20-30 yards downfield and still be leading the RB past the secondary.
Oh sorry I’ve been away Detroit selects Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss This is probably the pick the Lions should have traded away in reality (rather than 1.32), but the Lions pick up an extra pick so they can make a luxury pick in Corral and take a shot at fixing the QB position long term without using a premium pick. Corral is my guess to be QB2 off the board, so getting him as QB4 at the top of the second seems ideal for DET
