Fuck it, Giants take Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon

not going to over think this. Giants defense gets two absolute studs, neither of which is guaranteed to fall to their picks.

pass defense isn’t the Giants weak spot (15th last season) but damn this team just needs a lot of help. They lost BADLY to their whole division plus the Bears at the end of the year. (How the hell do you lose 29-3 to a team with rookie Justin Fields??) I think strengthening a strength and giving them a beast CB and EDGE to pair with Bradberry and Ojulari is the fastest path to keeping games close.

I do really want to work on the Giants’ offense but we still haven’t seen what they look like with Toney, Golladay, and Saquon all heathy and involved. The fact that Jones was doing okay and won all 4 of the Giants’ games before he got hurt, while Glennon absolutely imploded and threw only 4 TD to 10 INT, lets me know that this was just an absolute dumpster fire offense after all those injuries and it may not have been Jones’ fault. Let’s give Daniel Jones one more year to show he can be better with actual weapons, a strong defense rather than a middling one, and a coach that isn’t dragging down the entire team. (And a new training staff cause shit New York, these free agents and first round picks gotta stay on the field)

  7. I think I’d rather have Pickett than Willis if I had to pick between the two….but my god the fan base would be so out of sorts if falcons traded up with us for Willis while we took Pickett. I’d delete twitter.

  8. Pickett should be the 4th QB off the board imo

  9. New York Jets select Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame

Using a pick from the Adams trade to take a safety who is likely better and much cheaper for the next 5 years? I’ll take it.

I'm not sure what I think about Pickett right now. But I feel like that's going to be the pick there.

Yeah, I can see that. I didn't realize how few picks Carolina had, so I figured if I could milk anything out of moving down, even a little, I'd still get one of the top QBs on the board and still get another asset.

  12. trading down and getting a QB is ideal if we’re taking a QB

If I need a QB right this second than maybe I'd agree, but drafting is about the potential to me, and Malik's is through the roof if handled correctly. Gimme that and let Mariota run around for a bit in the meantime.

Edit: Plus, and I can't empathize this enough, Atlanta has done everything they possibly can to make sure no one cares about that trash-ass team. Malik+Pitts is at least an exciting combo to re-energize the fanbase with.

  14. I get that argument. The ceiling is definitely more exciting. He just scares me a lot lol

  17. The Minnesota Vikings select Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State

Wilson is the best route runner in the class. Jefferson is already one of the best in the league. Adding Wilson and Jefferson plus Thielen's twilight years gives Kirk a receiving corps that is arguably the best in the league. Is this the biggest need? Definitely not. But an added bonus here is it triggers a WR run well before the Packers get a chance to pick. The Vikings can deal with a second-round rookie at whatever other position they need - denying the Packers a chance at a WR1 is too sweet of a reward to pass up.

The Houston Texans select Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi St

I kinda like this as a trade down spot for Houston, but that takes effort and it also seems like a good spot to sit and grab whichever of the top 10 prospects drops out of that range — in this case, Cross. I’m assuming the Caserio regime isn’t nearly as into Howard as the one who drafted him as a first rounder (or they can shift him inside) and they’re putting together all the building blocks to then be able to go all in on the skill positions in ‘23

  22. Los Angeles Chargers select Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia

This has been the generic pick for LAC in most mocks out there, but it's for good reason. Davis would be such a huge addition to the Chargers defense. Their run defense was bottom of the league bad. Davis is a mammoth DT who happens to be really good against run. Considering LAC will be lining up with Mack and Bosa on the edges, the addition of Davis could transform the defensive line.
