Y’all can all stop complaining I have to pick for Cleveland got half a mind to draft a quarterback in the second round and declare that Deshaun got suspended for the 2022 season so Cleveland had to backtrack (I won’t but I really could not give a fuck less about any other team’s roster / success rn)
someone please trade with the Jags make it interesting (He says, unwilling to give up any Giants picks because their position in the draft with 5 & 7 is objectively better than the Jags at 1 in a year where there are like 8 top players in the same tier)
I wish there was a WR that good to be worth pick 1 cause I would. If there was like a Calvin or a Fitz or something hell yeah I’d go get Lawrence an absolute dog as a weapon. I don’t want none of these WRs in the top 10 though tbh. Maybe if Burks tested well instead of running a 4.6, or if Jamo didn’t get hurt, they might be worth pick 8-10 but still not top 5-6 players in the draft. I like the potential value of Pickens in the early second round or Christian Watson in the late second round a lot more.
I’m not able to do this one. I’ve been in the thick of the final weeks of my semester before graduation and in the process of buying a new car after totaling my last one in a hydroplaning incident last week so I haven’t been paying attention to football much in recent weeks
With the first pick, the Jacksonville Jaguars select: Ikem Ekwonu - Offensive Lineman - NC State Protect the franchise quarterback or you won't have a franchise QB for long. Ickey offers more scheme and positional versatility than any offensive lineman in this draft class. This is all about surrounding Trevor Lawrence with as much help as possible. Pederson is going to run a multiple offense. Ekwonu is the best fit to do everything he'll ask of his linemen, especially when it comes to the screen game.
@Night Channels I gotta opt out of this draft unfortunately, sorry I just saw this thread! I should have said something sooner.
i don’t like car shopping but it’s so infrequent that idk that I’d put it thaaaat high up like, house shopping is infinitely worse if we’re calling out once a decade or so large purchase processes
I think Neal is scheme and position versatile and I definitely prefer him as a pass blocker over Ekwonu but @Night Channels might be right that Pederson is gonna like Ekwonu cause of how fast he can get to the flanks on bubble and TE screens, and on how fast he gets to the spot for trap blocks during backside / misdirection RB screens. I forget that Doug Pederson LOVES those and calls that kinda stuff a lot
Ekwonu’s pass blocking also might not stick out as much at LG while we still have Cam. We did put ourselves in a position where we have a year to iron out any immediate issues with his technique on the outside, and he has improved a lot each year in college so he’s trending up that said, I still don’t consider Ekwonu the highest ceiling guy. He has more speed, for sure, but Neal has the potential to be an absolute brick wall and a top 10 starter at LT both in the pass and the run for years. But I get leaning Ekwonu if you live and die by outside zone running / screens and also if you love his personality (Ekwonu has future team-captain level character). Neal does tend to get tired if you’re sending him on second level blocks half the game instead of just mixing those plays here and there. Ekwonu is a beast run blocker if you’re confident you can polish his pass pro… I just tend to be wary of that because there’s maybe 20 tackles in the league at any given moment that are actually GOOD at pass blocking, and we already tried that “he’s a mauler, we can coach technique” strategy with Cam and Jawaan.
the combo of buying/selling a house last year was among the most stressful things I’ve ever had to juggle and now my wife is talking about maybe wanting to go back to Atlanta in the not too distant future and the thought of doing that again makes me want to crawl into a hole and never come out
Oh man, she doesn’t love Seattle? I can’t imagine the stress of trying to make sure selling and buying both go off without a hitch simultaneously so you’re not stuck between
outside of the part of not having built in community/close family, she loves Seattle — we just said having two kids or sending a kid to kindergarten would be the re-assessment point on whether we want to stay out here and the former is coming significantly sooner than we anticipated!
