2022 NFL Mock Draft 2.0: I'M STARTING TO THINK BLIMP ISN'T COMING BACK • Page 5

  1. Seattle Seahawks select Kyle Hamilton, S/LB/whatever, Notre Dame

I know. I know. They don't need a safety. And yes, this would mean they technically spent 3 first round picks on 2 safeties. I know. But I don't care. Hamilton is the best player available and will make a big impact wherever he lands. Bobby Wagner and Russell Wilson both leaving in the same offseason is tough for the team and the fanbase. I think it's time to just add the best and most talent you possibly can and hope you find your next leader on each side of the ball. Hamilton can certainly be that guy on defense.

This shit is off the rails already lol

I actually like the Malik Willis pick though cause Matt makes a good point that Daboll just coached another extremely raw QB with elite physical traits up to his ceiling

Jordan Davis also went about as early as I value him. I think if he falls to the teens he’s steal of the draft.

Don’t like the Burks pick though. I feel like we should do what we want the team to do not what we think the team’s stupid ass will do lol. I would’ve liked Charles Cross / trade Matt Ryan better

With the 10th pick, the New York Jets select:

Sauce Gardner - Cornerback - Cincinnati

Another perfect scheme fit. Ideal corner for the Cover 3 - long, rangy, fast. Day 1 starter opposite newcomer DJ Reed.

I won't be surprised if Douglas takes Kyle Hamilton, but the Jordan Whitehead signing kind of eliminates that need.

The same goes for the Laken Tomlinson signing. I would've taken Icky if we missed there in FA, but he's done a pretty damn good job filling in the roster so he can go BPA in the draft.

    The rivalry is back on

Must be nice to have made FA signings to eliminate needs prior to this mock draft

The roster still stinks but it's come a long way since Mike Maccagnan's firing in 2020. The Jets also have the least amount of dead money by a pretty big margin.

A true rebuild, which he haven't really seen in New York because Woody Johnson is usually extremely impatient.

  12. I was tempted to take Sauce for Seattle because he seems like a great fit but like I said in my post, I thought Hamilton was the best player available and could make a bigger impact.

how does this apply to teams that signed free agent replacements who are worse than the players they let go at that position lol

Jamal Adams won't like another "Blitz Boi" out there on the field with him

Like I’m sorry, if Jags front office came to me like

“okay we’re cutting Jack and letting Chark walk even though he’s only asking for $12M AAV… but we’re gonna sign Foye Olokun and Christian Kirk to bigger deals”

my answer would be “what the fuck, fire Baalke. Fans should not be smarter than your GM.”

At least they've plugged a hole on the depth chart. Losing a player and then not replacing them at all heading into the draft is rough because you're potentially overdrafting for need if there's a run on certain position groups.

I think Olokun is better than Jack.

I feel that Jack is getting unfairly put in the crosshairs because he was our only good LB for awhile. People are hyper fixating on how he struggles to get off blocks. But he wouldn’t have that problem if we had a better D-line and a solid take-on linebacker adjacent to him, to allow him to roam the field more. Jack is outstanding in open space and better than most LBs at coverage, particularly man coverage.

He’s a great example of a guy whose well above average instincts to make splash plays were subdued, because our needy roster gave him too much responsibility in areas where he’s not as effective.

  20. Eh, he'll get over it lol

I think Hamilton and Adams could make each other better playing together.

what we were paying Jack, at his age? You only let him go if someone’s trading assets. I cannot support just cutting him. There’s no reason we couldn’t have kept Jack and just added to our LB talent and shifted him back to WILL linebacker, or kept Chark as our deep threat and simply added more WRs. We are not hurting for cap space and if anything we’d have signed less middling free agents that way. I don’t think teams that picked first overall two years in a row can afford to just give away young talent

Seattle could just move Adams to linebacker finally. That's what he is and he's a really damn good one.

I meant pissing yourself laughing at the Seahawks for trading a 1st for a safety then having to trade the GOAT QB and then once again using a 1st on a safety.

See: They just re-signed Jake Matthews.

While certainly not an authority, PFF's grade for Jack was ABYSMAL
