I stg it’s always Matt’s pick exactly when he’s taking a nap and it’s always my pick exactly when I’m taking a nap lol
ADHD + depression + being in school & getting stuck grinding through homework until 4 AM sometimes really throws off our routine & midday energy both of us haha
I think it’s especially the ADHD though. Shit makes your energy so inconsistent. I am constantly back and forth between having the energy to work, plow through 6 hours of homework, cook, and clean the whole house in one day… to having days where even figuring out one meal & running one errand feels like hell haha. And nothing consistently works- some days 1 cup of coffee has me bouncing off the walls, some days 3 cups of coffee just puts me to sleep. Some days a small dose of medicinal marijuana gets all my synapses firing and helps me get my day started, sometimes it only adds to the fatigue and distraction. I’m also still on pandemic time basically, doing everything on irregular hours cause I have nowhere to be during the day for the most part and my classes are asynchronous. My job shifts are 4pm to 11pm so it doesn’t really dictate that I can’t take naps beforehand haha. But it does sometimes mean I am too wired to go to bed until really late. So basically instead of going to bed early when I’m tired, my schedule is more conducive to sleeping extra in the morning / taking afternoon naps. Tough to stop myself from taking stress naps at entirely unpredictable times when I’m swamped & feel like I need to relax.
oh it’s nothing to be sorry about! It’s something I am trying to fight with actually lol, I wish I did have a more regular routine… but working nights and being in a VERY hard program at my school makes this hard. Like, I’m trying to learn web development in a few weeks flat lol this might as well be a full scale coding boot camp I’m in. Sometimes I’ll start code at 8pm thinking it’s a 2-3 hour job but then get stuck on a logic puzzle until 3 am I def can’t be “stay up till 4, wake up at 10 and nap at 2” guy when I graduate and have a career haha
Is running the children’s care facility your primary job or is that something you do volunteer? I think it’s so great that you and your wife provide care specifically for families that are financially challenged.
Cincinnati Bengals select Jelani Woods, TE, Virginia Talk about a guy who has only just scratched the surface of his potential. He hasn't even been a tight end for all of his college career. He got put on the map by an absolutely INSANE combine but his potential was always there on tape and on paper. Second best-missed tackle rate in his class. Very reliable jump ball/50-50 target. And then there's this Joe Burrow gets another freakish target.
So it was my full time job. But I left about 2 months ago and now run a small community nonprofit that has an after school program and food programs in a high poverty neighborhood about a mile from my house.
wonderful. I really respect the fact that you dedicate yourself to helping kids in troubled communities have positive influences / upbringings. I know it’s a paying job for you but it also says a lot that you positioned yourself in such a way to make that your career.
Jaguars select Greg Dulcich, TE, UCLA. alright if y’all are gonna take literally all the good receivers then I’m going with a TE. No way am I letting Evan Engram be our primary plan lol. If Dulcich is not on anyone’s radar I feel like he should be just because TE is such a rare position to have all the attributes. His skillset is truly balanced. Real long arms - 80” wingspan - really help him pluck the ball out the sky before the defender has a chance at it. He’s got very strong hands to do so in traffic. And he’s a lot faster than he looks, ran a 4.69 and doesn’t really stumble or slow down to change directions. A smooth runner at his size can be a weapon. He also adds a 34” vertical. my favorite part is the route running. He has some slick stutter and double moves, runs deceptively rather than all-out. And he was asked to do everything from wheel routes / splitting out to the sideline, all the way to fighting through physical double teams / zone coverage over the middle to make dig and post grabs. He was at his most dangerous up the seam, but he’s clearly not just downhill speed - he reads defenders’ movements and adjusts routes based on that. is he a great run blocker off the press, no, but so few TE are. With Isaiah Likely he’s a great receiver but he’s got a long way to go just to handle NFL blocking. I like that Dulcich has the body, and I like that on tape you see a tough mf who’s willing to stick his face in the contact even if it’s not pretty. I think Dulcich is a TE with three down starting potential, who is gonna fall way too late if the scouting community isn’t ahead of the media coverage here.
Plus we have Chris Manhertz anyway if we wanted a better blocking TE who can still play receiver in a pinch. Rotating him and Dulcich as the TE2 in packages (that is, until Dulcich takes Engram’s job lmao) would allow some flexibility between adding weapons for Trev and adding blockers for Robinson
Browns select Cole Strange, G, Chattanooga Most of their backups on the IOL seem to be waiver claims and UDFAs, so the Browns grab someone who tested real well to be a developmental guy as a swing guy in the middle of the OL
