Atlanta Falcons select Kenneth Walker III, RB, Michigan State Ridder. Walker. Burks. Pitts. That's an offense baby.
Baltimore Ravens select Cam Thomas, DE/EDGE, San Diego State People call him the "Aidan Hutchinson of the Mountain West" (which basically means off-brand Aidan Hutchinson) but that at least gives you a pretty good idea of his skillset. He did get 10.5 sacks and 20 tackles for loss last season. Surprisingly powerful dude for his size, plays nasty run defense, violent hands. Level of competition is a concern - and he didn't get to boost his draft stock at the Senior Bowl despite being an anticipated talent there because of a hamstring injury. However, the Ravens coaching staff really understands how to get the most out of front 7 players so I'm seeing Cam Thomas's ceiling in this scenario more vividly than I'm seeing his floor. As I said earlier, this Ravens front 7 got a lot softer after losing Calais, McPhee, Houston, and Bynes. Maybe Tyus Bowser is a serviceable second EDGE player opposite from Odafe Oweh, and Cam Thomas bulks up even more to play 3-4 DE (his 270 pound frame isn't yet maxxed out). Plenty of sources suggest he's capable of that. The more likely scenario in my mind though, is the Ravens using him as an oversized OLB like Houston / McPhee were, considering they already have Oweh as a finesse rusher / sideline to sideline threat. It makes a lot of sense to pair his 4.3 speed on one side with a heavy handed run defender on the other. With the additions of orc-sized linebackers Leo Chenal and Cam Thomas to the LB corps, plus replacing 340 lb NT Brandon Williams with free agent 340 lb NT Michael Pierce, these hypothetical Ravens have done a good job patching their biggest need (front 7 players who can play the run.)
EDIT: Actually nevermind we should pick for @Dinkleberg he said he’s really busy with work and school
The New England Patriots have traded 85+N'Keal Harry to the Cleveland Browns for pick #78. With pick #78 the Patriots select Darrian Beavers, LB, Cincinnati This is gonna sound weird coming from me but....the Patriots have too many LBs under 250 pounds. The #Patriots inside linebackers: - Mack Wilson (233 pounds) - Cameron McGrone (236) - Harvey Langi (250) - Raekwon McMillan (242) - Jahlani Tavai (246) Beavers gives them a guy who can step into Hightower's role if he doesn't come back, or replace him down the line. He's not the most athletic guy in the world but he can handle himself in zone coverage and his experience in other positions allows him to process coverage quickly. This pick gives the group a little of everything. Bentley and Beavers to be more traditional off-ball linebackers that Bill loves, Wilson and McGrone to be the more athletic guys hopefully. Also fuck N'keal Harry lol
lol I don't like him, I don't want him, and I don't have a lot of draft capital so i'm honestly thrilled. I basically valued him at pick 132 lol
Wait, wait @CarpetElf let me make their pick here, it’s so obvious They’d be pooping themselves if this happened
