Jaguars select Chad Muma, LB, Wyoming. fuckin tackling MACHINE. In 2021 he had 142 tackles with 50 (!!) run “stops” (see: < 4 yards on first down; < 3 yards on second down; and < 2 yards on third down), good for second in the country. I like Leo Chenal’s pass rushing and size better for Baltimore cause they love to do weird blitzes, but overall Muma is the prize LB to me once Dean and Lloyd are off the board. He’s got pretty great speed and is a lot stronger / more clever about manipulating blockers with footwork than Logan Wilson was out of the same school. There are several examples of him beating double teams where he gets chipped and still getting to the ball carrier. The thing that stands out most about him, is how consistently ballcarriers get PUNISHED and laid directly onto the ground with .00 yards after contact. I mean the dude is a block of concrete, and he is great at reading leverage and taking really aggressive angles. His tackling, if you isolate that one trait, sometimes reminds me of Brian Urlacher to be honest. He’s the enforcer that has the best chance to drop Derrick Henry / Jonathan Taylor at the line of scrimmage on 4th & 1. I wouldn’t call him “great” at coverage - he has good speed and agility but limited flexibility hampers his change of direction. However, this is a three down linebacker that was also 19th in the NCAA among linebackers in coverage “stops” (18). He more than has the requisite athleticism and intelligence to handle LB coverage responsibilities - HOPEFULLY, Mike Caldwell understands better than DL-focused coaches Joe Cullen and Todd Wash how to spread that around, and Foye Olokun can take the lions share of responsibility in open space. If we cut Jack cause he struggles to avoid down blocks and sometimes takes bad angles in run defense, this is the answer. by the way, this PFF author declares him the best LB in the draft, for all you PFF nerds
I dont have time for a write up right now as I am following all this Tyreek shit, and I dont even really own this pick anymore lol but anyways, with the 50th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select Channing Tindall, LB, Georgia
The Lord of Socks has informed me he cannot pick at the moment due to being busy with sock shit or whatever. He had one instruction - finally, a safety. The Philadelphia Eagles select Lewis Cine, S, Georgia. @JRShoenberger
Pittsburgh selects Wan’Dale Robinson, WR, Kentucky If we finally see Canadas offense unleashed this season, Robinson would be a great gadget for him. @Night Channels Packers
I have tried to trade up so relentlessly the last few picks and have failed. If I luck into my player still being around i'm gonna cry lol
New England Patriots select - Kyler Gordon, CB, Washington I tried to trade up a few different times because after Kyler, there isn't a whole lot of CB depth in this draft that I think can get early playing time. Bill for some reason was determined to murder his elite secondary. Steph Gilmore? Gone. J.C. Jackson? Bolting up. Adding Malcolm Butler is a nice story but he isn't the #1 shutdown guy and I refuse to let JoeJuan Williams inside Gillette Stadium again. Kyler has the flexibility to play inside or outside, man or zone. Dude is perfect for what Bill likes in the defense.
You gotta love coming into a draft with needs at LB and WR, and due to your unwillingness to retain free agents, OT and CB shift all the way to the top spot lol
Arizona Cardinals select Nik Bonitto, EDGE, Oklahoma Cards love speed and Bonitto brings speed as an edge rusher. He was also the highest graded pass rusher in the Big 12 each of the last seasons two seasons. A bit undersized but he it hasn't seemed to slow him down at all so far in his career.
lmao with that hypothetical Saints trade i now have picks 65, 70, 98, and 101 all in the third round sure, i'll go from Devin Lloyd to Chad Muma for that
Cowboys select Jaquan Brisker, S, Penn St Cowboys keep rolling BPA and forego their WR needs for the guy I’d put as S2 behind Hamilton in the draft class
