My targets were Kenyon Green, Zion Johnson, Jermaine Johnson, Nakobe Dean, George Pickens, Devin Lloyd, George Karlaftis I thought I’d get one of them as the annual second round steal… that just could not have fallen worse for Jacksonville I should’ve traded up with Cincy. That whole tier of players was off the board by round 2. This draft seems thinner than the last two or three.
New York Giants select Jalen Pitre, S, Baylor Peppers is gone. Time to replace him with someone that can actually play football.
Rather trade down tbh. There just isn’t a pick on the board for us that was nearly as good as Lloyd replacing Jack would’ve been
Not a single one matches talent with need to that extent imo. We did a good job taking the best talent in round 1 I wouldn’t be so blown about this if we didn’t up and make LB a need out of nowhere by cutting the only remaining talent we had. I didn’t even think LB was one of our bigger needs until that happened.
not even close to as urgent as it is now we literally only have one 215 pound guy to play linebacker right now
Anyway it doesn’t matter because the Jags will probably have a chance to draft a stud IRL and just pass on it to do something dumb. Everyone and their mother should’ve known Christian Barmore was the most “NFL ready” prospect on the board in round 2 last year.
Well to be fair Creed fell all the motherfuckin way down to KC so everyone whiffed on that. Taking Barmore at early round 2 would’ve been in line with his value at the time
three of those are extremely scheme specific players. They fell because they would only be as good as they are in the right kind of defense. You got me on Holland though he’s a beast
Also, Campbell yeah but it’s hard to celebrate that victory when our pass D was awful anyways. Also, his college tape was very messy and he has clearly panned on the positive side of his possible trajectory so far
That’s not necessarily Jags talk that’s just pretending we are scouts with the ability to accurately appraise every player
