The Dallas Cowboys select Lewis Cine - S - Georgia. Double dipping on Georgia defense here. I see him as a player that can fit well in the Cowboys defense and help the players around him play to their strengths more effectively (aka a player who can close in quickly and make a tackle if Trevon Diggs gets burned).
Bills select Calvin Austin III, WR, Memphis. I'll likely write up some more once the coffee hits. In the meantime, the Bills both replace Isaiah McKenzie and get the heir apparent for that turd that wears #11 at the same time. Austin checks almost every box for what I want to see the Bills get as they likely retool the WR position a bit. Deep threat, projects well out of the slot, sure handed. I can deal with the lack of return experience - that's the one part of McKenzie they can't replace with Austin, but they desperately needed an upgrade to "team speed" and this is a great fit @Swoos back to you
Tennessee Titans select Marcus Jones, CB, Houston Undersized slot corner but plays with aggression and has good ball skills. Also a very good return man.
Just took a count of which schools are the most represented in our mock so far.... Alabama - 7 Georgia - 7 Cincinnati - 6 Ohio State - 5 Cincy well-represented.
Ok well since this seems dead I'll post my mock recap Browns: Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama Phidarian Mathis, DT, Alabama Christian Harris, LB, Alabama Bama triple dip. Added a legit weapon for Baker and the offense. Despite coming off an injury I'd expect Williams to have a strong rookie season. He will certainly add a dimension to the offense they've been lacking. While both Mathis and Harris could develop into starters, they at least give the defense some more depth for now. Grade B. Panthers: Kenny Pickett, QB, Pitt Panthers start the draft with an F because of the Sam Darnold trade and only having one pick in the top 100. Ideally, we trade back from #6, but getting Pickett would also be exciting. Grade C+. Seahawks: Charles Cross, OT, Miss St George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue Kyren Williams, RB, Notre Dame ***Jalen Hurts, QB*** The Russell Wilson drama spiraled into a divorce in this mock, leading to a trade with Philadelphia. As a result from the trade, Seattle ended up with two first rounders after entering the draft with zero. Cross and Karlaftis were excellent values with those first rounders and both fill huge holes on the roster. Kyren Williams was another great value in the third, will be a perfect compliment to Carson, and gives Seattle a legit receiving weapon out of the backfield. Grade A-. Steelers: Sam Howell, QB, UNC Jamaree Salyer, IOL, Georgia Derion Kendrick, CB, Georgia Our resident Steelers fan hates this draft, but I think this would be fantastic for Pittsburgh. Sam Howell is being severely underrated pre-draft and I have no clue why. TDN has him below Strong and Ridder which is just weird. He's been really good every year as a starter. He is a legit dual threat and had maybe the best deep ball in the country. Salyer fills an obvious hole on the OL and Kendrick is a steal in the third talent-wise. Grade A-. Titans: Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa Marcus Jones, CB, Houston Titans draft is underwhelming on paper, but I think both of these guys will buy into the Vrabel tough-guy mentality and be perfect fits. Penning's penalty issues can be cleaned up with good coaching, which he will have in Tennessee. Jones is on the smaller side, to be nice, but you wouldn't know it watching him. He's also a difference maker in the return game. Grade B-.
Sorry for the huge delay, been feeling like shit today. It's updated and the Buccaneers select Jermaine Waller, CB, Virginia Tech. Carlton Davis is a FA and @Sean Murphy is hurt. Even if Davis is re-signed, I don't see how they keep Davis, SMB, AND Jamel Dean down the road.
Sooooo my day has gone kinda wild. Gonna need someone else to pick. Sorry guys, I’ll explain one day lol
