Ravens select Cameron Thomas, DE/EDGE, San Diego State.

y’all took all the obvious picks from me so I went small school standout diving. This guy is pretty easily the best pass rusher available displaying both incredibly powerful hands at the point of attack and unique agility for his size. He’s got an arsenal of moves and although he played a lower level of competition, technique-wise he holds his own against the run.

I’m obviously not saying he’s as good as Hutchinson but he’s a nice consolation prize with a skillset / style that at least resembles Hutchinson’s, for a later picking team that wants that specific “type” of edge threat. Ravens already have a finesse rusher with elite speed who is developing really nicely in Oweh, now they pick up a guy with an unusually strong upper body who will run through brick walls (much like how Houston was.)

He’s put on a ton of weight and his body has changed a lot in college. It’s not entirely clear whether the Ravens would rather keep him at current size to replace Justin Houston across from Odafe Oweh, or if they’d wanna continue to bulk him up to replace Calais Campbell as a 3-4 DE, but the Ravens need to fill both positions on an aging front 7, so either one is fine.

I'm sure you did! Only watched Pierce once and don't know much about him but I agree with the reasoning for sure and wanted to go WR at some point this draft for that exact reason
