The Vikings are switching schemes to a 3-4 but their DL is surprisingly already well built for that transition. Ed Donatell is a secondary coach through and through and I think he's going to want to continue building this secondary. Adding Stingley and Brisker to the group that already has Harrison Smith and Cam Dantzler is a great start for the new DC.

Herbert is the franchise. The Chargers made a huge signing in Corey Linsley and drafted a left tackle who immediately became one of the best in the league. Despite that, their line is still ass. Kinnard offers versatility and can play guard or tackle.

 

The New Orleans Saints select Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida

I’m not sure that the Saints *need* a corner per se, but Elam is probably BPA that isn’t an EDGE or RB, and giving Dennis Allen/Kris Richard another incredibly talented CB to develop sounds fun

Eagles select Kyler Gordon | CB | Washington



Eagles double down at a position of need. There are so many questions marks with the Eagles defense that you can pick just about any defensive player and have it be a good pick. Kyler Gordon is kind of a secondary name when talking about the Husky DBs this season with Trent McDuffie likely being a first round pick in April.

I think once Gordon tests at the combine, his name is going to start a dramatic rise as the draft approaches. He can play inside or outside so slots in as a flexible piece right away for bonehead dipshit Jonathan Gannon.

Eagles nab him here to hopefully help put together a secondary that doesn't stink up the joint again.

Every year, somewhere along the way while doing Colts mocks, I say THIS will be the year when the Colts spend serious draft capital on the tight end position. Jack Doyle is strongly considering retiring, Mo Alie-Cox is a pending FA, and in his year-end press conference, Ballard said he liked the receivers but that we needed a tight end this offseason — so, this year feels as good as any to finally be the year
