honestly at this point Trouba is far and away the dirtiest player in the league, since joining the Rangers he has a legitimate reputation of a guy who legitimately gives up on hockey plays to pursue head hunting
I love meatheads celebrating that hit like it had any effect on the game & Trouba’s team didn’t get embarrassed in a Game 7.
Stars over Kraken in 5 Golden Knights over Oilers in 7 Devils over Hurricanes in 6 [redacted] over [redacted] in [redacted]
I was harsh on him the first half of the year because he couldnt put the puck in the ocean, but my god hes been awesome
with Pacioretty/Svechnikov/Teravainen all out it’s really just about doubling down on our shut down defense, stay out of the box and rely on the PK to keep being stellar, pretty much all our offense at this point is establishing a forecheck that gives us enough time to volume shoot from the blueline with a net front presence - it’s either that or some Aho/Necas magic all in all the realist in me says Devils in 6, i’m just glad we don’t have to worry about those NY to NC transplants in our building and this current Devils team are still fresh enough to not have gained any long standing negative sentiment towars thems just need to conjure up 02, 06, and 09 vibes to get ourselves through this one
I’m gonna try and go to game 3. Hope the devils fans don’t murder me. It’ll be a tough series given our injuries, i am a bit worried if our offense can get it done. Goaltending and defense can only get us so far. We need to figure out our power play cause it looked atrocious most of the time against the islanders. Gonna be interesting to see who we go with in goal. Could see a rotation between Andersen and Raanta if they both keep playing well.
he came back to the bench at the end of the game, which I assume means no concussion which is the best news
Would have loved to see Toronto get bounced in the first round again, as well as Carolina, but other than that haha.
Panarin was a pile of dog shit too. Kreider and Igor were the only ones who showed up every game. Even Fox got sloppy after the first two games. Same old Rangers.
I was actually thinking something similar initially, but upon further deliberation concluded it was horseshit. If Meier had leant forward the instant before the hit was delivered, then yeah it'd, unfortunately, have been unavoidable. But Meier had been in the position he was for enough time prior to contact that Trouba could've adjusted. Refs are stupid and Trouba is still the human equivalent of a bowel infection.
