If I were the Pens last off-season I put my foot down and respectfully say it’s time to let Letang and Malkin walk. Trade Crosby to Colorado with some retention so you can get a decent package coming back and Sidney can go play 1-2 punch combo with his protege Nate Mac. They would have been up there Anaheim and the rest as Vegas odds favorites to land Bedard and could properly rebuild. Now they’re in the boat with Washington of suffering in mediocre obscurity for the next half decade at least. At least, if there’s any justice in the world that’s how it’ll play out.
