I don’t think there’s any way Canes make it past the second round at this point, we could barely score even with Svechnikov, and now it’s looking dire. On top of that, we’re looking shaky as hell in net and I’m leaning towards them starting Kochetkov over Andersen at this rate.
If Raanta is healthy for the playoffs I would consider starting him. He was playing better than both of them before getting hurt
I don’t like any of the options too much at this point. If it were up to me I would prioritize getting in Saros or Gibson this summer, a bonafide number one that Kochetkov can learn from for years before he takes over.
I think part of Gibson sucking is the team he's been playing on. Put him on a team with good defense like the Canes he can probably go back to a playing level closer to how he was early in his career.
The only reason I mentioned Gibson is cause I’m obviously not sure if this front office would want to pay the assets necessary to bring in Saros, if he is even available.
As someone who lived to see Carolina put Cam Ward through like five years of 60-65 game seasons where he was facing 35+ shots every night i’m definitely weary of how Gibson’s body will hold up. He would obviously be the least busy goalie he’s ever been if he came to Carolina, and if you’re really worried about him holding up I would have no problem starting Kochetkov 35 games next year if Gibson came in this summer.
He's not entirely wrong. Probably wrong about kadri but there's a bunch of Muslim footballers in Europe who have refused to wear pride based armbands, pins, etc. That said, I'd rather bigots like Reimer keep my faith out of his fucking mouth.
it’s less about the pride jerseys & more that the situation he put Kadri in is completely ridiculous and unwarranted.
Preds basically were an AHL team last night but I'll take it Outscoring opponents 13-0 on back to backs less then 24 hours apart. Nice.
Other than the branding logo changing not much will change from my understanding. I believe Fanatics currently make the authentic jerseys that are sold at retail for the NFL and MLB even though they have the Nike logo on them. I think they do the NBA too. Not sure if they do it for Adidas and the NHL, but Fanatics does at least do some stitched NHL jerseys. Other than the mental hurdle of wearing Fanatics branded gear it’s mostly business as usual from a consumer standpoint. Hell, even some of the practice gear for NHL teams is provided by Fanatics.
This has been the long game to bringing back more crazy brawls. Fight straps connected to pants are of no use, when they're not connected to the jersey anymore.
I stopped buying most merch because it’s all fanatics made so now I buy vintage merch with better quality thanks fanatics
Yeah, I have not been a fan of Fanatics stuff either. Their sizing on things just has not worked for me. Hopefully no one thought that I was endorsing them. I was just providing information that this move won't really change much for us, given the current agreements they have with some of the authentic jerseys already.
