I always love what the NHL picks and chooses to enforce. The Rangers are literally dressing players but not playing them just because they dont want to call anyone up to ruin their theoretical cap space for a player not even on their roster yet. Thats totally okay.

Worst case he’s an upgrade on one of Noesen/Stepan/Stastny on the fourth line and brings some size to the table, best obviously is that his WJC connection with Aho somehow gets something out of him that playing with McDavid couldn’t.

I could see JP being Carolina's Lehkonen from last year's playoffs. It's always those moves that pay off.
