tampa has a really good track record with these deadline depth moves. paul and coleman both were huge pickups for them. jeannot is young and had more goals last season than either of those two players have had in any single season of their careers. i feel like it was an overpay as well but i wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up being a huge addition and making it feel worth it for them.
heres today's wild story of the day....Timo Meier was acquired from assets used in a Bill Guerin trade in 1998 Bill Guerin was traded for Jason Arnott in 1998 Jason Arnott was traded for Jamie Langenbrunner in 2002 Langenbrunner was traded to Dallas for a 3rd round pick in 2011 That 2011 3rd round pick was Blake Coleman Blake Coleman was traded to Tampa for a 1st round pick that 1st round pick was Shakhir Mukhamadullin, traded yesterday for Timo Meier
I love trade trees and stuff like that. My favorite one is that Trent Frederic is a direct descendant of the Glen Wesley trade from thirty years ago
McCabe and Lafferty are both useful players. I dont hate that for Toronto. I DO hate all the Western teams sending their good players to the East
Canes have to make a move after the rest of the East contenders are loading up. Is JT Miller the only big name remaining besides Kane?
I think the Canes pull off a deal similar to the Trocheck deal where they bring in a guy with term left that no one is exactly talking about. Someone like Konecny or Buchnevich given the profile of player we’ve been looking for.
Stand pat, keep the picks & beat the spoils of whichever one of NJ & NYR don't kill eachother in the first round.
Figured as much, just an example of the kind of guy I think we’re looking at. Maybe a play for Laine? Scoring winger with size is the name of the game.
