my initial thoughts on that list are Heiskanen and Ekblad are too high, Pelech and Theodore are too low

 

Seth Jones ranked behind 55 year old Doughty and always underwhelming Nurse. Good thing he’s not overpaid through the end of time

 

Bowman could not help himself and the Jackets are forever grateful.

Since the Hughes draft (honestly as far back as the hall mvp season) I been saying "devils need d and goaltending still". They're finally doing it. Dark horse candidate if vanecek is even league average.

 

honestly, their team defense wasn't even THAT bad last year...it was like 80% goaltending. At 5 on 5, they allowed the 5th fewest high-danger chances and were 16th in xGA (better than NYR in that category funny enough)

Their season last year was ravaged due to league worst goaltending, an abhorrent PP, and the injury bug

If they can simply get league average goaltending, they should at least contend for a playoff spot.

 

I didn't listen to the audio but I'm sure he's talking about benching anyone under the age of 25

look I get the jersey retirement, even if I disagree....but a STATUE?!

 

Yeah I mean he captained them to 2 cups and played for them for nearly 20 years, a jersey retirement is very understandable. If they give him a statue they’re gonna have to give statues to at least three other guys from those cup teams
