You’re telling me the Panthers and Falcons had interest in Watson but don’t in Lamar?

I would be curious just on process if the Dolphins acquired their first back, is it back to fair game? lol

  6. It's lame.

Panthers don't really have the cap, but could obviously figure something out.

Falcons have tons of cap space though. I am very surprised they're passing on him.

Get Henry on the Dolphins so I can see how massive he will look next to Tua in shotgun.

As a Ravens fan, this is probably the most optimistic I've been since December that Lamar may actually stay in Baltimore.

I think the Ravens did their due diligence at the combine and know that there are no serious offers for Lamar, or that they're all at or below what they've already put on the table. The non-exclusive tag basically gives them control of the situation and tells the rest of the league to dictate his fair value since he and the Ravens can't agree on it.

I think there's even a scenario where a team does step up to the plate with a fully guaranteed deal and the Ravens match it. They very clearly refuse to be the first domino that falls in the guaranteed contract saga, but if another team puts pen to paper and physically commits to it, the means the floodgates are open.

Really, the absolute biggest thing here is the team's relationship with Lamar. An agent would be shielding a player from all this negotiation. How thick skinned is Lamar? Will his feelings be hurt, or will he see it as just business?

Regarding the talk about Deshaun vs. Lamar a year later, the landscape has also changed a bit. Some of the teams that were in on Deshaun now have their guy. Some are not in a position to make anything happen as it comes to guaranteed money (Raiders.) Also, the rookie QB class is much stronger.

  12. I’m just trying to see why teams are backing off Lamar, not agreeing with it…..

When people say all these teams were falling over themselves for Watson….only one team was willing to give him a fully guaranteed deal of that size. It’s the reason Cleveland “won” the Watson sweepstakes. So if Lamar is only interested in getting the fully guaranteed deal of that size….then it actually is consistent with what everyone except Cleveland did last year.

But it’s still odd to say you’re not interested this quickly. Because maybe there is room for negotiation? And they reportedly aren’t even engaging in that.

What would be funnier than the jets not giving Rodgers the time because they got Lamar and then we get a “I was disrespected” rant on the pat mcafee show for like three months lol

Fact of the matter is that dude has been out for the home stretch two years in a row. That, plus a metric ton of (guaranteed) money, plus two years 1st round picks minimum makes it a risky deal. No doubt owners are having a a major effect too, think it would be silly to pretend like it's not happening (to some degree)

You know what else is a risky deal? Going with all but, like, five or six QBs that the Ravens don't have a shot in hell at instead of Lamar

Okay? Ravens can match any offer Lamar receives that he finds satisfactory. I want him on the Ravens, no question about it. At the same time, I understand why teams don't wanna give up all the draft capital and cap space to accommodate him

Any team that has a legit shot and reason to trade for Lamar and doesn't is scared to compete. Sorry, but that's just how it is. I refuse to be a fucking sheep in a cold dead world filled with so much wool
