Sooooo Ravens aren't the only team hesitating to give Lamar that much money it seems. And I get it. He has the injury history + a lot of these teams are positioned to get a QB they like on a rookie deal. It's just weird we saw some of these same teams go all out in pursuit of Watson but back down here? I suppose Watson being shit after getting paid + Wilson being shit after getting paid could scare teams into repeating that mistake. But Lamar is much younger than Wilson and much better than Watson. So, I don't know.

 

It's also just a bunch of reports and posturing.

 

Last year also had a shitty QB class so teams were more desperate in free agency and trades. This year there are 4 QBs teams are drooling over so they're probably less likely to cough up picks AND give out a massive deal when they could cough up picks and get their guy on a cheap deal.

The Lions should make Lamar an offer close to what he wants. To talk myself into being okay that he won’t be a Lion, ever, I guess I’m fine not paying that much money to someone who hasn’t played a full season since 2020.
