It’s really not though. Cheaper than Manhattan maybe but Manhattan isn’t all of New York and it’s weird when people act like it is haha

yeah you have to scheme your play calls around him the way you used to have to for JJ Watt, you can’t just throw extra blockers at him and run your offense like normal

It actually is. Even if only looking at Brooklyn, Queens, whatever. But also you can't just exclude the most expensive part of the city, especially when it's as large as Manhattan.

  5. You can just agree that they are both expensive lol. Just a fun city to visit I wouldn't live there.

    Nope. Supporter

Vancouver is expensive as shit, I think every home their is a minimum of $1m and that's for like a cardboard box

And Richmond, Canada is wild. It's mostly all farmland but with these MASSIVE mansions on huge plots of land (we're talking like 7k sqft minimum). It seemed like each house had their own farm on their property too which was cool, if you have that much land you should do something with it. We stayed at one of these mansions on our trip but just in a little side room lol

I just looked and it’s not hahah.

Manhattan has like maybe 25-30% of the actual population of New York, it’s not most of the city. it’s just the most famous part so obviously it’s thousands per month more expensive.

  9. Still part of the city though is it not

It is important to account for outliers when analyzing things like this cause they can skew the overall perception. Manhattan literally by itself skews the “average” COL in New York City upward by a lot, but that’s obviously not where any non-wealthy families are even gonna consider living in NYC so it’s not really narrowing down a complete picture

But you look at Toronto and man it seems like the whole thing haha.

  12. Oh okay so we can eliminate the top 25% of Toronto then too???

  13. Average rent in Brooklyn is still around 3k why argue over 4k vs 3k it's still insanity

Also homes are not the only thing you spend money on in a place though they are certainly major factors yes

no because I’m saying Toronto doesn’t really have a Manhattan like urban area that’s WAY more expensive than the rest of it. It doesn’t really have an “outlier”. There’s wealthy neighborhoods like a normal city but not like one entire urban region that is head and shoulders more unlivable than the rest

    this is true also though

  18. Manhattan is still a significant part of New York though that you're just excluding because it hurts your point, even though the rest of NYC is still very expensive as well. Why argue lol

Please don’t assume things like this. Outliers are a very legitimate concept I’m not just making this up. This is where I usually get annoyed that I bring up actual data science elements and you just dismiss them like you know more about that than I do and I’m just being biased

  22. I know what outliers are, it's not some big data science element calm down lol. We're comparing a city 1v1 and you're choosing to eliminate the most expensive part of the city, despite it being the densest part. Even if you eliminate that, it's still more expensive. You can just google this haha.

as in, please google it and cause I'm not gonna argue.

It has decent studios and rooms for rent between $1300-$1600, you ain’t never gonna find that in Manhattan unless it’s literally one of those micro 100 square foot closet apartments that you have no kitchen and have one shared bathroom among all your neighbors on your whole floor

(I thought very hard about moving to a less gentrified part of Brooklyn before I decided on Baltimore)
