Our defense just doesn’t need an overhaul. At all. It’s young and talented and hasn’t peaked yet. We’ve just spent the last 2-3 rebuilding that side of the ball and overall have done a good job of it. Doesn’t make sense to start over again. They’re far from the problem right now.

The offense has been putrid though. And it’s mostly because of how god awful our QBs have been. The OL has been good this year and all of those guys should be back. We have a WR1 in DJ. So the rebuilding on that side of the ball shouldn’t take that long, but it all hinges on picking the right guy between CJ and Bryce. My vote is for CJ because a QB under 6’ and under 200 pounds scares me.

 

Burns is just a pipe dream to me. I don’t actually think the Panthers will trade him. I think they’re more likely to trade guys like Yetur Gross-Matos, Matt Ionnidis, Shaq Thompson, or Xavier Woods than they are DJ Moore, Taylor Moton, Derrick Brown, or Brian Burns.

Panthers have a lot of legit young players who are either definitively good/great right now or have the upside to become that. They need to nail their head coach and the QB, but there is some reason for optimism despite the concerns with their GM and owner. I would be cautiously optimistic if I wells a Panthers fan right now.

CJ and a WR at 32 and it could be decent year one for the rookie.

I guess but I also think Mitchell is the better player and probably get a better return over Wilson

I also think Mitchell deserves a crack at a starting role somewhere since he won’t have that while CMC is in SF

looking at TD passes by year and 2004-2007 has a strange amount.

2004 - Indy led the league with 51 TD passes
2005 - Cincy led the league with 32 TD passes - 19 LESS than the year before
2006 - Indy led the league with 31 TD passes
2007 - Pats led the league with 50 TD passes - 19 MORE than the previous year
