There's no way for me to say this without sounding biased, but I'd 1000% want Maxey on my team over Herro

 

He also makes 26m less and seems like a much more tradeable asset considering the heat can’t find a team who will cough up a bunch of picks for herro but sure “it’s because he’s white” lol

 

And a year from now he'll probably make 20m more

Tbh if I were Cronin I’d already be close to just telling dame to go play overseas this season. If the heat add more to the trade or he’s willing to go to another team his contract doesn’t expire until the 2027-2028 season, go have fun.

 

Maxey’s ceiling is incredibly higher than Herro. Herro is a good player but what he is now is probably what his peak is and that’s fine

 

I like Maxey a little more than Herro but the talk around them is insane to me. Herro is a weak asset but Maxey is someone they should press accept immediately for? That's basically the narrative I've seen from a lot of people. And it's ridiculous lol

Yes, Herro and some firsts isn't the greatest value for Lillard. But guess what? Nothing that Portland will be realistically offered is going to be great value. And that includes Maxey + whatever picks they'd get in that scenario.
