I think everyone is lukewarm on him because his contract is not great and because they just saw Miami nearly win a title without him after just barely making the playoffs while he was playing. It's the same recency bias that got Vincent and Strus paid, just working in opposite effect.

 

I guess so. Seems like a really dumb reason to be cold on him. They beat the Bucks when Giannis was injured, the Knicks who are just meh, and then nearly blew a 3-0 lead to Boston. Not taking away from what they did as a whole, but they would’ve been better with Herro. His shooting is literally the thing they were missing at the end.

But I agree the opposite has happened with Vincent and Strus. They nearly got 100m combined. If the Bulls close out the last few minutes of that play-in game, I’d bet that both guys get 10m each. It’s madness lol

 

I agree with @Argus point for sure. But people easily forget he was 6th man of the year with over 20+ pts per game and he held his own in his first playoffs as a rookie in the bubble

And the only reason he came off the bench last year is because it’s what the team needed, he gave the second unit life last year and they finished with the best record in the east

Harden's an investor in Mitchell & Ness, which Michael Rubin owns. Pretty sure Harden goes to this thing every year, along with a bunch of other Sixers, since Rubin was also a minority owner of the team until last year.

 

He provided a few fun highlights, but definitely one of those cases where the more he played, the more evident his flaws became. Once opponents had enough film they all keyed in on how high and loose his dribbling was and how little he passed once he got the ball. He could still develop, sure, but right now he's more of a curiosity than a useful basketball player.

A ton of Magic fans are absolutely losing it right now, though.

He should go to the g league for awhile

His best attributes on each end are probably his shooting touch around the rim and his weak side shot blocking, respectively. The problem is he tries to do too much dribbling and he gets tunnel vision on offense, and he's just not good on defense. Too slow laterally to really switch on the perimeter, and too skinny on the inside. His basketball IQ is just really low right now.

Bol Bol is what someone who has never actually seen Victor Wembanyama would imagine if you told them about how he's 7' tall, but has perimeter skills.

 

Another year would’ve probably helped him
