Having to reload hoopshype every minute for updates is truly a nightmare

 

This Dame saga has been insufferable

 

I feel like it is gonna drag on for like a month

From what I’ve been told, that is exactly what happened. Brook agreed, they had a deal with Atlanta to clear cap, Brook backed out last second and signed with Milwaukee after they upped the offer a tiny bit more… rockets didn’t want to bail on Atlanta so they went through with it.

 

Also imagine thinking forcing two people to move their families for no discernible reason other than a pinky promise makes you look good lol

Because the team is clearly trying to get the word out that Brook bad and rockets are honorable and I just think it’s kinda funny messaging

 

When really - like most business interactions - Brook was probably using it as leverage

Which is fine! We originally signed him to a 1yr 3mil deal - which is wild!

Yeah, it’s not a big deal to me. Would’ve LOVED to have him though so I have slight salt in me but for the most part it’s fine

I don’t think anyone is turning on Dame and they are stupid if they are. He has been a class act and I love him.

I just think it’s incredibly short sighted to think anything less than trading him to one specific team is doing him an injustice. Just because he’s been a franchise player for a long time, doesn’t mean he is entitled to name his destination and the organization has to do everything in their power to make it happen. There’s a big difference between wanting to be traded to a contender and saying I want to go to the Heat and nowhere else.

The funny thing is I don’t think the Heat are that great with him since they will have given up Strus, Vincent, Herro and whatever else it takes to get Dame. They are incredibly thin especially if they have to give up Martin as well.

 

They really wouldn’t have been able to keep Strus and Vincent anyway regardless of whether they can get Dame. I don’t think there were ever any negotiations with Strus and Gabe didn’t want to take a discount to stay with the Heat. Given their cap situation, they couldn’t match what the Lakers offered. I still think they could manage to not give up Martin depending on what they can get for Herro in a multi-team deal but time will tell.

If Lowry ends up sticking around, I definitely thinking he could still be a good bolster for their second unit and they’ve upgraded their big rotation behind Bam.
