I'm not skewing anything. These QBs were praised for being pro-ready and the others had knocks on them for not being as "pro-ready". That's literally all I'm saying. That being "pro-ready" doesn't mean shit. Especially from armchair scouts like us.

The point is I don’t have faith Justin Fields will be good........

I'm old enough to remember the Jags bros being heavy wrong about everything week 1. Randall said Minshew was too talented and they wouldn't get the #1 overall pick and Bram said that the Colts were overrated.

The point is from a prospect perspective you're still saying Minshew vs. Fields is a hard choice lol

Oh okay so let’s just stop scouting players and having opinions on them altogether then lol

it’s hilarious to me you act like you don’t try very hard to have an objective opinion about players on a daily basis

I know, I've read "he can't make pro reads" about a thousand times, but we already know Gardner Minshew ISN'T good, so taking Fields over him is pretty damn easy decision to me lol

what we know about Gardner Minshew comes from what he did on a team that was falling apart, trying to tank, sat him for clearly worse quarterbacks in the effort of tanking. I again raise the point that we are so much more forgiving about context and saying “oh he’d succeed on a functional team” everywhere else, except a player that actually had better rookie season efficiency than a lot of them. Sam Darnold and Josh Rosen legitimately got more benefit of the doubt than Minshew lol

Same, was big wrong. It's you and Randall that have trouble admitting that lol.

You’re the one who said pro ready, not me. One read is not a buzzword, it’s literally the play only has one read

I mean, i'm pretty sure if you polled every single fan base and asked Fields or Darnold or Fields or Rosen, Fields would be the consensus choice.

You think people are more forgiving of Darnold or Rosen because people say "eh, i'd take a chance on him" or "eh worth a 3rd round pick to see if they blew it" and equate that to saying "idk if i would take a person mocked in the top 4 over him."

Truthfully I just think a lot of casual fans don't know what they are looking at or why it is / isn't working.

    Hard agree haha.

My firmest take is the smartest baseball fan "understands" like maybe 87% of baseball. The smartest football fan is prob down at like 7% haha

I never liked the vibe I got from Sam Darnold. I can't put it into words very well. Idk why. I just always looked at him and thought "there's a guy that's not going to win football games". Didn't let that affect my ranking of him coming out because that's stupid but yeah

A lot of coaches don't either so how could we haha

I’m saying there’s a good chance Justin Fields ends up like one of those QBs though. A better comparison skillset wise would be Marcus Mariota.

You forget that Mariota, Rosen, and Darnold were all “mocked in the top 4”. Me saying I’d take Minshew over that is not exalting him that much. It’s more me saying I don’t think Fields is a can’t miss and there’s a lot of potential for him to just not develop

aside from that bit, every other part of your post is exactly what I’ve been saying about Minshew. I explicitly suggested the Saints trade a fourth round pick for him because they need a QB who costs next to nothing and Minshew is the only one of those who is gonna get you a 3:1 TD INT ratio.

I learned way less playing than I did coaching / interning. There's little things people don't realize and it's why random things get thrown to the wall like "pro ready".
