Anything can happen but drafting a QB high is pretty much an admission by Roseman that he botched both the Wentz and Hurts situations and I sincerely doubt he's willing to do that. If Lawrence was possible, it'd be a different story

 

The only thing surprising in that tweet is Philly taking a QB at #6. Does that mean Hurts is available too? Because I'd take him over Teddy rn.

Hurts was asked to come into a very poor situation last year and looked pretty decent. There is definitely potential there if they give him something to work with.

 

Roseman positively compared Hurts to Russell Wilson after drafting him lol, they definitely have a higher opinion of him

 

Hurts had a college coach that practically throws the ball for you and still was not very good.

 

I'm a little surprised NE hasn't been named in the Wentz talks

If the Eagles take a QB this year, they will have used 3 first round picks, 2 second round picks, 1 third, and 1 fourth on the QB position in the past 5 years (minus whatever compensation they get back for Wentz and/or Hurts)

 

My preferences for the QB fiasco:

1. Trade 3 firsts, or 2 firsts plus a decent player for Watson
2. Justin Fields (would trade up to 3 for him)
3. Zach Wilson (would likely require a trade up for more than I'd pay for him)
4. Trey Lance (if he falls to 8)
5. Trade down for Mac Jones

 

PLUS the money they eat when they trade Wentz

He had a 52% completion percentage with a million fumbles

 

He showed a few flashes. I give him a lot of slack because of the OL, WR, coaching, etc he dealt with as a rookie. He was thrown out to a team that seemed to have little hope or motivation.

 

thats fair....and I am not saying that they should give up on him or anything like that

but if you can snag one in the top 5-6 (come trade up to #3!), I think you probably have to take a shot....and that is coming from someone that doesn't even like Justin Fields that much

 

The Eagles are two years away, at best, from even approaching contention. They have holes at every position except RB and I guess TE (I don't love Goedert but he probably is at least league average at his position). They would be much better off filling in other areas of the roster first, especially in a league where veteran QBs are starting to move around more and more

 

Hopefully the colts get wentz for nothing

 

Philly can have Darnold to compete with Hurts

 

Why would you trade up to 3 for Fields but not Wilson?

Howie Roseman is wild. Always a rollercoaster with that guy. He got hot a few years ago and magic happened to win them a Super Bowl. But since then everything he does seems like a disaster.

 

Buckle up
