the only way you SHOULD be looking at drafting a “franchise quarterback” is in terms of long term sustainability. You of all people should know this. Us being historically bad doesn’t change that.

 

I'd rather a 50% shot at a Super Bowl for three years than a 20% shot for 10.

 

The only way I don't see this as being sustainable is by it working lol. So the more you say how it'll fall apart, the more you're saying it worked.

 

again, all of this assumes players perfectly panning out. You’re dead in the water the second players start struggling to reach their potential (OR stay healthy!)

I’m not gonna meme-discuss the Jags just because they’re a bad team. Enjoy it y’all but you know the Browns tried to actually do something like this (in a real context) a couple years ago and failed MISERABLY right? Just ended up with even worse losing seasons

idk what to tell Randall, Tom Brady was a key vet signing that pushed the Bucs over the top, why can't the Jags do something similar? You'd have an insane CB room, insane WR room, insane OL, and insane pass rushers. Sign a LB and a S and go get this thing.

There's no way someone would rather have 5 first round picks over four years vs 9 first round picks! They can bust anywhere so might as well get that out of the way early I guess.

 

If Bill traded our next 6 drafts and Steven Belichick and idk...the TB12 center next to foxboro to the Jags to get Trevor Lawrence i'd get a tattoo of the trade sheet haha

It’s a waste of breath for me to have an opinion about college players because you think you’re always right. And you’re always on this bullshit about “why don’t teams just blow it up every 4 years and throw away a good quarterback” and ignore all of the context that exists regarding why teams actually don’t do that and why that would never happen. It’s clearly a bias, but you parade around like it’s objective. You’re even more forgiving of Urban Meyer than you are of any other problematic figure just because he was a great college coach.

 

Hell, Bill could even trade his daughter along side since she's the most proven coach of the kids. GO GET ME MORE RINGS
