Really Flacco'd themselves on that one; trade the 2nd rounder for him and then hand him a big contract with him hardly having played. Some quality sunk cost stuff

 

@CarpetElf @Randall Mentzos @uuu any of you play that “NFL Head Coach” game on PlayStation 2? I heard it was super dry but detailed. I had a friend play it for awhile like a decade ago but don’t remember anything he said about it. All I remember is Tony Dungy being on the cover

To be fair, we are aside from that move haha

 

So far the only thing they’ve had to do is assemble a staff and well, that includes a guy who was hired and fired in the same week haha.

 

And hes done a pretty decent job at assembling a staff haha outside of that one dude

 

The Jimmy G contract has to be the worst ever for a QB ?

 

Yeah it was amazing. Can still be played today really. You can draw your own plays.

But Jimmy has a no trade clause

 

Jimmy played like 4 games and they were like "hey, heres a top contract"

 

You realize the 49ers can cut Jimmy this year with only $1.4M in dead money right? Who cares about a no trade clause?

 

Apparently SF can cut him now and only have 2.8m in dead money, but they'd save 23.6m. Seems like an easy decision lol

 

49ers went 22-8 with Jimmy in his 4 years, went to the super bowl, the contract didn't really prevent them from signing anyone, and they can easily get out of it this year if they get an upgrade QB. But sure, worst QB contract ever.

It is fun that it gets twisted to this when I want the 49ers to trade 5 first round picks for Deshaun or to draft Lance or trade up for Wilson.

 

Just playing around. Only other person that defends a qb as hard is Randall with Minshew.

 

Yeah if they can cut him without much consequence it’s not that bad of a contract and the no trade clause isn’t that big of a deal.

 

Brock Osweiler; if we're talking talent to cost and "what it took to get out of". Goff is gonna be up there too.

Flacco's certainly in the top 10, if not top 5. His deal put them in such a cap bind that even coming off a mediocre season and with a torn ACL, they had to extend him 3 more years and lock themselves into that mediocrity. But they were sort of forced into it by that SB win.

 

I'd go as far as to say neither of them did

 

My god, 2016 off-season is THE WORST for QBs ever.

Fitzmagic getting $12mil to go 56% completion and 12TD/17INT

I mean, at least PHI got their draft pick back from Bradford, but, nobody wins from any of that...
