Yeah most of my TV watching ended around when Mad Men ended because what was the point nothing else would be that good. Now when I have free evenings I usually pick out a movie.

My girlfriend and I started Mr. Robot and I’m intrigued, but that’s probably the first show I’ve really gotten into since Atlanta, maybe

Watt has now passed the torch to Donald... but let’s not forget Watt did unheard of things against constant holding and double teams in his prime too. He got two straight 20 sack seasons didnt he? And that’s as a 3-4 DE who’s responsible for TWO GAPS against the run.

And he probably is far and away the DL with the most passes defensed since Julius Peppers, he might even have more than Peppers

He really didn't have much of anything to do with Lost after the first season. Lost was mainly Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse.

Happy Endings was a show that I started and was angry it got cancelled and the further I went in the more I understood why it was cancelled.

Just thankful this thread has taste and hasn’t mentioned Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones

(I liked BB but thought the hype was a little much)

I started watching it a few months back and made it the first 3 episodes or so; its very weird. I can see it becoming amazing, the characters are there for sure...but, just wasnt in the headspace to take that on at the time.

As someone who worked in state government a while, man, the characters for Tom and Jerry are very real. People just settled in for the easy check and go home, and people with big ambitions that in no way can fulfill them and blame their job for holding them back

  17. Breaking Bad will always be in my top 10 just because of the adrenaline it gave me while watching it

I can’t think of a show that ruined its legacy more than game of thrones - we’ve been stuck inside for over a year and no one is binging that show

it was the most popular thing for 5+ seasons and then the final season absolutely killed any and all legitimacy it ever had

Game of Thrones is the one that gets me. Imagine going back a few years and telling someone the show wouldn't even be in the broad conversation for being the best show around.

They literally butchered the last couple of seasons so bad that the show has become tainted by association.

BB is incredible, but its definitely got some wild ups and downs in what they allow Walt to get away with. But if we're knocking B99 for being too cop heavy, feels like Breaking Bad and Hank has the perfectly written cop character. Unlikable but effective; yet with a weird blind spot and ultimately not enough power.

BB was definitely great at achieving those thrills, but there wasn’t as much behind it as say, Mad Men. A lot less substance. Again, good, but I feel like similar to GoT it’s not talked about as much as Mad Men or the Wire or Sopranos.

and yeah, Game of Thrones... truly trash. I think the fault definitely lies with Benioff and Weiss but, unpopular opinion, the books have just as many issues and you can see that GRRM is not going to pull it off there either (not that I think he’ll ever finish the series, to be honest)

Breaking Bad is very good but it's not on the level of Mad Men/Sopranos/Wire like people say. It's definitely in the second tier though. Game of Thrones I'm just waiting out. It's still the best show of its kind and was mostly great through its run and on paper the last season was good but I cannot FATHOM how D&D fucked its execution up so poorly.

As someone who liked the ending, I actually think their big mistake was how much they fast-forwarded stuff in the last 2-3 seasons. It takes an entire season to walk from south of Winterfell to Kings Landing for Jaime...yet dragons are flying crazy far north and back in like, 15mins of an episode?

I had re-binged the show not long before Season 8, if you follow Seasons 1 and 2 closely, Season 8 wraps a lot of it up nicely. Its just such a different show at that point though
