He literally says, in that interview, "there's not a source". He's just speculating. So, yes, he did make shit up.

 

Is there not a middle ground between "no source" and "making stuff up". Like, maybe he heard bits and pieces from various places and people. No single person fed him the information, hence no "source", but he pieced it together from several different places?

Sounds like it's been a bit of an open secret in journalistic circles for a while anyway, based on what others have said.

If it wasn’t true I think we’d have heard Rodgers clear the air by now. He at any point could post one lazy sarcastic tweet about how the media will make up anything and that would debunk the rumors.

 

Yes, and this is standard journalistic practice. There's absolutely no way ESPN would let Schefter report anything he wasn't confident was true. No company likes getting sued lol

 

Rodgers also hates ESPN, and this is a good example of why even with it being true.

I watched Schefter in real-time steal my friends report and and claim credit for it. Dude is a twerp and will always be a twerp.

 

There is a conversation to be had about the ethics of the top newsbreaker for the NFL being employed by a company that also has a financial interest in the NFL doing well, among other things. I definitely don't think it was broken on draft day by accident, but I also think that decision is above Schefter's pay grade, and that doesn't mean his reporting is untrue

 

Oh, tons of journalists do that though lol. What it comes down to is they get paid and legitimized and you don’t lol. They can’t steal another professional reporter’s story but any other inside info is fair game for them to be the first “reporter” on the story

people can still hear you with the mask on your mouth?? I get pulling it down to yell something across the field in practice but it doesn’t help the media or other front office workers hear you better. Why are like, millionaire NFL coaches so dumb about this lol

I’ve literally gone out and street busked a few times with a mask on. Like, singing hard, running out of breath, putting a damp mask up to the microphone and everything. If I can do that for two hours *outdoors* to block vapors from escaping my mouth, and not remove my mask until I get home, Meyer can answer 3 media questions *indoors* with a mask on. They preach toughness and discipline but are being babies about the most basic health precaution

 

Meyer is definitely equal parts rural Florida and rural Ohio lol
