The steelers are just drafting a bunch of dudes that are all friends lol

 

Buddy Johnson is a dope pick for them

 

he threw guys who got drafted before him on the ground the one time he got to pass block against quality competition at the senior bowl. There was a lot of tape on his reps and he appeared in the game too and not once did I see him get beat

ECU’s offense didn’t ask him to do much more than run block and yeah he was raw at it, though his athleticism for the position is really impressive. His tape doesn’t answer much of his questions. But if you want to develop a guy with a wrestling background who just knows how to dominate people one on one he’s in my opinion the second best “developmental” traits-based OL after Spencer Brown.

 

You were not watching well enough then.

Spencer Brown is an elite athlete. D'Ante Smith isn't.

Smith is though. Hes 6’5”, 320, 35 inch arms, excellent feet and gets FAR up the second level. They just showed a lot of outstanding Smith highlights on the broadcast.

and yeah I watched every senior bowl rep of D’Ante that was available. He dominated everyone there including Jordan Smith, Quincy Roche, Patrick Jones, Cam sample etc

 

Smith ran a below average 40, average bench, average vert, below average shuttle and cone. He is by no means an elite athlete.

Senior bowl is fine and all but he's the second most penalized tackle on top of one of the sloppiest.

 

I hate that the Titans got Weaver.

 

Heavily underutilized for his athleticism. Great blocker. Not a bad pick.

 

he’s a raw traits prospect that had an eye popping performance that raised a lot more attention around him at the SB. He wasn’t being talked about before the senior Bowl for a reason. He responded really well to professional coaching and elevated competition in a short period of time, ended up being one of the best offensive linemen there, and that added some context to those great traits to encourage teams that they are developable.

 

That Jets pick is....not great

 

If it was just based off his tape and he had just a “pretty good” but not outstanding senior bowl, he would not have even been discussed at all

so I get where you’re coming from

Bengals take a kicker and not even the best one available lol

 

It’s special teams time, fun draft. Hopefully next year, the atmosphere for the draft is slightly less depressing.

 

I know you’re not a fan of Brevin Jordan but do you like who we took more than Jordan?

I at least think we could’ve considered Ta’Quon Graham

 

They're about the same. My concerns with Farrell were usage.
