Ugh Dayo Odeyingbo was SUCH a Colts day 2 pick. It’s real hard to get amped for that pick, but hopefully this reach on paper is more Darius Leonard and less Ben Banogu.

My main takeaway is that the DE position had better have a difference maker on it now. They’ve spent 5 picks in the first 2 rounds on DE since Ballard has been GM (Kemoko Turay, Tyquan Lewis, Ben Banogu, Kwity Paye, Dayo Odeyingbo) so there’s really no excuse for this to not turn from a weakness to a strength ASAP. I don’t really care which of those guys breaks out, but 1 or 2 of them really need to

Also, I still can’t believe they haven’t addressed LT. There’s no way someone picked today would be a guy you’d expect to start in year 1, and I really really hope Sam Tevi/Julien Davenport is not their answer. Ballard said yesterday that the plan was to not shift Nelson over to tackle, but honestly, that might make the most sense if they can grab one of these good IOL guys early today. Or hopefully he has something up his sleeve to grab someone like Eric Fisher or Alejandro Villanueva once the draft ends to be a one year stopgap before we do it all again next draft (without a first rounder!)

 

I fell asleep before Pittsburghs 3rd pick. And I didn’t know who Green was, but he seems super solid from what I’m seeing.

 

Don't know anything about the Ravens second pick last night, but based on his relative athletic score, I doubt he's as big a reach as casual fans claim. There will be smaller school guys that fall through the cracks due to the covid atmosphere and he's probably one of them. Surely he's a project, but with the Ravens current secondary, no one picked in this draft was going to be expected to be a starter unless they have a lot of injuries.
