Why are you throwing when you could be running HB Dive the GOAT play

Actually it’s tough against @CarpetElf though cause he does things like put Troy Polamalu at MLB, and blitz 6 players half of his play calls. Sometimes I get lucky and rip off a big run because he doesn’t keep his safeties in check, but typically quick passes and pre-planned rollouts on flood plays are the best way to move the ball against him

If I try to run too much I just get into third and longs so I definitely have to play Matt differently

 

There are people online that often ragequit that run HB dive.

They intentionally take the ball to the 5 and then stand there on the kickoff, they run HB dive, they snap the ball at one second every time. They stop running once they get beyond first down unless its a breakaway TD. They get into the red zone, people clamp up, they throw a pick, they quit.

ez.

 

All of this said though... I am big on running just to keep the defense honest even if it’s not working. I will get 12 carries for 26 yards if I have to. Even if it’s not working it still *usually* forces the opponent to rethink their play calling and that can open up other things

nothing makes Matt stop blitzing quite like Fred Taylor getting a 75 yard run lol

 

I assure you if you're running for 2.16 yards per carry against me I am not rethinking my play calling.

 

thats why I said “usually”. There are times when it’s just bad the whole game. But at the same time I’m more likely to dig myself a hole if I try to pass for 90-95% of the game

 

Also. I tend to draft a team that’s gonna spring me for a big run eventually. Blocking TE, a fast fullback, young guards that can pull block are super important in my offense. That’s also why i traded for Hines Ward. 86-rated run blocking for a WR is legitimately impossible to find or upgrade

 

My bit last season was never running the ball. This season I think I'll just play but next season I'm gonna do "Nuzlocke" QB I think

 

Does this mean you release Trevor Lawrence into “the wild” (see: free agency) when you have a bad game?

 

If I drop them their stats go away so idk how I'll manage that but if I throw an incompletion, they're benched, yes. Or maybe INT. I haven't decided lol

 

Matt is so whimsical about how he plays madden lol I love it

he’s pretty tough to beat too. He definitely just makes you feel like you got trolled when he wins. Probably has a lot to do with why I responded by getting really good at defense.

 

I haven't bought Madden in a couple years. Is it free to download now that the season is over?

@CarpetElf has painstakingly pushed me to play the like 4 games I do play, lol. I used to play them way too much as a kid and I think I ended up cutting them out of my life, because there was a rough patch where they weren’t fun and were just making me mad or anxious

 

I've never played Madden with someone in the same room and I feel like it would be difficult. It would be hard to do any preplay review or audibles without the opponent seeing.

 

For tournaments you play on your own screen sitting across from the guy.
