my taste in bass is very cliche, I’m getting a Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass. Has noiseless active pickups and an Ash body. it’s one of the most popular basses, for certain kinds of music. That bridge-pickup tone is so clear and has so much character.

Wouldn’t be the greatest for a band that wants a really thick bass to mix with distorted guitar. But It’s perfect for a project like mine where I use more clean/crunch tones than overdriven tones. I want my bass melodies to be really audible, almost like a second guitar. (Very influenced by Death Cab For Cutie and The Sea And Cake’s bassists)

 

Love me a Jazz bass. It'll probably be my next bass if I talk myself out of a Rickenbacker.

I always played with a jazz bass and I never wanted anything different haha

 

I am buying an Acoustasonic Jazzmaster.

 

ive tried multiple other basses. Jazz Bass is life. Precision basses are more common in rock music, the Jazz Bass is much more likely to be heard in funk or R&B (or jazz lol) but I’ve always preferred the really glassy / grainy sound of the Jazz

some bassists really disagree and think it’s a weak or harsh sound. I understand that most basses don’t have that extra treble bite to them but I personally LOVE that sound. It’s like gritty and sparkly clean at the same time. You really hear it on stage too.

Sports media is so dumb. Fields is a great example.

Two weeks ago all they talked about was Fields falling and all the reasons why he was falling (a narrative they made up).

Then last week some started to wonder, why is he falling so far?

The last couple days I am now seeing, why aren’t we talking about him for #1 or #2?

It’s all so stupid lol

 

It’s all to suck up to the nfl, create narratives and garner ratings in the process. The league loves it, whatever helps muster up more interest for them is always good.

 

I think that’s part of it. I also think the sports media landscape is so diluted and majority of them don’t know anything more than people like us.
