Corey Dillon fails both my 1st two thresholds. Was he a Bengal? Rejected. Was he a RB? REJECTED.

 

that era has so many Hall of Very Good RBs. Priest Holmes, Tiki Barber, Jamal Lewis, Warrick Dunn, Fred Taylor, and Corey Dillon are all within like 5 points of each other on PFR’s Hall of Fame predictor stat slightly below the cutoff line of what might get in eventually, and Shaun Alexander is there too a little above them right around that cutoff line

 

Yeah I just get nostalgic for those Bengals uniforms. None of those RBs should get in but all were very fun to watch.

 

Oh but I’m going to @ you and point out that even with the injuries Fred Taylor deserves it over Dillon

 

Good.

 

Taylor, Barber, Lewis and Dillon had much more longevity than the other guys which I think should factor in, but yeah you’re right basically none of those 4 guys are quite HOF level

 

Neither do as both are RBs and aren't named Barry Sanders or Ladanian Tomlinson.

yeah of course, Taylor still doesn’t come close to those guys.

I think he was maybe only 5-7 slots behind them in TALENT but lack of durability drops him much lower down the list

he’s actually #55 in yards

Faulk and Martin deserve it though. Martin had ridiculous durability, and obviously Faulk was the first RB ever to legitimately have WR-level receiving skills

 

Faulk is a crybaby who hates the Patriots because Bill called him soft on national TV. Curtin Martin is a Jet. KICK EM BOTH OUT FOREVER.

 

I don’t think that makes Faulk a crybaby haha. I’d be pissed if a coach called me soft too

 

“Soft” just so disrespectful in the context of football players haha. That’s worse than calling them a vulgar name in some respects

Are people really not aware of Jaelen Phillips's medical history. This feels like Myles Jack/Jaylon Smith all over again.

 

I don't know where the rest of him his but I can tell you where his head is

 

Terrell Davis at his peak was as good as any RB of my lifetime. I don't have a huge issue with his being in the Hall. Edelman obviously isn't close to HoF worthy, but I enjoy that the conversation enables Patriots fans to point out he is among the greatest postseason receivers of all time. He'd have needed to be much much closer in terms of regular season stats and awards for that to help push him over the edge obviously.

Fwiw I remember the assault story when it happened, and I thought he was exonerated by the video evidence showing he didn't interact with the accuser. Completely possible that wasn't the case, and I am certainly reading stories like that with a much more critical eye in 2021 than 2011.
